Changing Expatrio block account from Student to Opportunity Card – Insurance update taking too long?
Hi everyone,
I initially opened an Expatrio Blocked Account and health insurance under the Student category. However, I didn't activate the account or the insurance because my plans changed, and I switched my visa type to the Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte).
Since the Opportunity Card requires a different insurance type (Private/Expat insurance instead of Public), I requested Expatrio support via email to change my profession status and update my health insurance package.
It has been a while, and my updated insurance papers have not been cleared or generated in the portal yet.
Has anyone gone through this exact transition (Student to Opportunity Card) on Expatrio?
How long does the back-end team usually take to cancel the old public insurance and issue the new private insurance certificates?
Is there any way to speed this up, as my visa appointment is coming up soon?
Any advice or timelines based on your experience would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
