I keep running into "must make 2x cost of unit" for looking for apartments. I have been at my current 2 bedroom apartment since 2014. I recently got a housing subsidy through CMHA. They said they can pay the difference up to 2200 for us to move to another 2 bedroom apartment. I expect to live there 3-7 or more years.
I cannot for the life of me find a place. How do I deal with the inaccessibility. I have some cognitive issues from a car accident and I can appear fine but the deeper organization and memory retention isnt there. I have a social worker who i feel is helpful but also I need to guide the help a lot and I dont feel as supported with longer term things that keep coming up.
ODSP worker completely useless. Im sure theyre wonderful people but there isn't just magic help available.
I havent had to move since my disability, so how do I do this, how can I deal with the consistent discrimination due to disability?
