So I have a plan to pursue my PhD from abroad after doing my masters in English, so I believe that it is possible in Usa UK and all these places as on top of that I am doing masters in English literature from BHU. So can you give me some idea that how are the professors are giving like letters of recommendations and what is the faculty like if it is researched based or a little bit theory, I need to know some idea so that it would help me further because I want to go ahead with linguistics after doing my masters in English. If anybody knows anything about this? Could give me any idea on any suggestions. I would be really grateful.

I genuinely feel sorry for the people who wanted to get into bhu, its a dream college for so many but the cutoff?!! It doesn’t make any sense, not a single drop in the marks. There’s a guy in the groupchat i am in of the helpdesk, he wanted to get into bhu for b.ed, the 3rd list stopped at 148 and 4th one too… his is 147. Just one fucking mark. I can feel him cause i was at the same position last year. It might be the situation for alot of people now… this stress is really downgrading our mental health.

The seats are so less but the competition is hige each year with the number of students increasing.

No point in saying these things cause in a country with no future in education and filled with cheaters, leakers or whatever i don’t expect shit from here.

I am sorry on the behalf of the UNIVERSITIES.

So after JNU’s, IDIGR OR ISI list comes out the drop in Delhi University, third list would not be much because of the applicants who were there in the first and the second list did not withdraw because the jnu’s list has still not come out right so they don’t know if they’ll be getting in or not so the drops or the number of vacancies will emerge only in the spot rounds, right?

The mess, food, hostel, arts faculty and all. Please if anyone could help me with some insights?!!

I am C1 sc in english. I am 14 marks behind from the dept of english cutoff. God knows.

Hear me out, so basically for colleges like ARSD and other colleges under the campus, the marks for my non-dekota was 174 and I have 165. I am not understanding why is the cut-off not going for English literature when the paper was so hard, first of all second of all when the cut-off is so high, who are these people that are getting admission when most of the people that I’m hearing did not get any seat allotted out of so many colleges. No College is getting allotted. I don’t understand what is what is going on. I don’t understand the system and why is it happening? Maybe I am glitching or maybe the system is glitching.

With 165 marks in sc category for English literature. Do i have a chance? Cause i don’t wanna travel all the way to get back empty handed.

Also is hcu better than eflu? Incase of opportunities and exposure.

I am quite confused because about this for department of English for PG. I have 165 marks for SC category and I am pretty much sceptical because they have this first their admission process and then their difference in the counselling date so HCU is on 13 July EFLU, It’s tentative date is between 27th to 31st of July. So pretty much apart. You know like difference of the timings and all the stuff I’m confused because which one should I keep as I have applied for EFLU MA Eng cafeteria

Every year, thousands of CUET-PG aspirants are forced into an exhausting and expensive admission process that few people talk about. Many universities still require candidates to travel to campus for offline document verification, even when there is absolutely no guarantee of securing a seat afterward.
For students from financially weaker backgrounds, this process is brutal. Travel costs, accommodation, food, local transport, and miscellaneous expenses can easily run into tens of thousands of rupees. Last year, I traveled to EFLU for document verification and spent around ₹25,000 in the process. After all that effort, time, and money, I still did not get a seat and had to return home empty-handed.
The financial burden is only one part of the problem. The emotional toll is immense. Students and their families spend weeks anxiously waiting, arranging money, booking tickets, and hoping for a positive outcome. Many travel across the country carrying folders full of documents, only to discover that their rank or category is not enough to secure admission.
In an era where online verification and digital document submission are entirely possible, forcing students into uncertain and costly journeys feels outdated and unfair. Higher education should be accessible, not a gamble that demands significant financial and emotional sacrifices before admission is even confirmed.
Is anyone else frustrated by this system?

So I did not get any seat in DU maybe probably because the cut-off is too high. I opted for MA English and I don’t really know that if I would get it in the later rounds or not, seeing everyone getting their seats, it is quite a bit disheartening because my score is not up to the mark, but it’s fine. Du wasn’t my first preference anyway, but it’s quite disheartening to see that others are getting in im happy for them but not for me, and I am left behind, so yeah.

All the students talking are saying they got no seat allotted… i wasn’t supposed to get a seat in the first round anyway but how come no one did?!!

So i was allotted my 4th preference… in the first list C2 (non bhu ) sc for english is 180… i got 165 marks. So do i have a chance in department of English??

Which one is cheaper? I am from sc category. Regards to the sem fees, mess and hostel. Which one is more affordable for MA IN ENGLISH?
