Tips on moving from Field to Design?

I’ve worked in construction for two years, and would prefer to settle down. I prefer office work to field work in my job, and would like to pursue full time Design Engineering. Problem is I’ve struggled quite a bit when it comes to getting interviews. The few companies that do respond I can’t seem to get past the HR Screening. This has been a struggle, but it’s even more pronounced now that I have some urgent family matters, and my employer has made it clear that despite there being an opening back home at the end of this field assignment, they are unwilling to transfer me.

What can I do best to help myself get a design role as someone with two years in field construction

Edit: I have an Electrical Engineering degree

Should I keep pushing for an internal transfer?

I’m looking for some career advice because I’m at a crossroads.

I’ve been with a large construction/engineering company for about two years. Throughout that time, I’ve consistently told management that my long-term goal was to relocate back to my hometown for personal and family reasons.

My first year was with one division of the company, then I was transferred to another division in a different state. Now I’ve been told I’m being transferred again to another state, even farther from where I want to be.

The part I’m struggling with is that there are multiple openings on the company’s internal job board for the exact same role in my hometown, but they’re with different divisions. When I asked about transferring into one of those positions, my manager told me that my current division’s priorities come first, so they won’t let me transfer.

At this point, I don’t really believe they’re going to move me where I want to be. If they were willing to, it seems like they would have done it by now.

So my question is: what would you do?

Would you keep pushing management and HR for an internal transfer, or would you accept that the company has made its decision?

Has anyone been in a situation where one division essentially blocked a transfer to another? Did continuing to push ever work, or was leaving the company the only realistic option?

I’m early in my career (about two years of experience), so I don’t want to make a short-sighted decision. At the same time, I also don’t want to spend another year or two hoping for something that isn’t going to happen.

Is this COLA expected?

My boss is moving me from Tucson to San Diego. The COLA I'm being given is 6% (from 0%). Excluding COLA, the salary otherwise remains the same. This seems really low. Is this expected?

Are there any adventures or one shots in the Mere of Dead Men?

Official or unofficial either or works. This also includes campaigns where they spend like one or two sessions out of the whole campaign in that area. Thank you for any help

What happened to DnDBeyond random character generator?

I used to love making random characters with random spells and backgrounds, but now that’s gone. Is it ever coming back? And is there any site I can still create random characters even including materials like Humblewood & Cthulhu by Torchlight?

Like with it I made a level 10 character with 3 classes, multiple random spells I wouldn't have chosen otherwise, and a cool background, and he became one of my favorite characters ever. Is there any way I can still do this easily?

What's your tier list of number of players?

I'm assuming S tier would have mostly 4 players, but I'm really curious where people would put things like 2 players, or 7, or even just 1

For me

S: 4
A: 1, 5
B: 3
C: 2, 6
D: 0, 7
F: 8 or higher

Are there any good 几 & 多少 jokes?

Idk this seems like something that would have jokes with it, with 几 assuming less than 10. Maybe a comedian says 你觉得我有“多少”钱。你应该说“几”. Or something like that. I’m seeing if I understand the language a little here. My vibe check as someone who knows very little about Chinese is that specific one would be like a Nickelodeon live action kids show or 90’s sitcom type joke, that gets laughter only from the audience, but I might be way off. But a funnier one could be made by a professional comedian with a better premise

Or like if someone said “这个家伙问我有没有“多少”钱” would that be something where someone would see the punchline before they even said it?

Reset Terrain Features not working

I downloaded SMAPI with the windows file. It installed. I downloaded the Github version of RST, installed the file folder into my stardew valley mods folder. The popup appears when I press L, but nothing happens when I press clear, generate, or reset. What do I do to have this work?
