really disappointed with my experience in da nang

really disappointed with my experience in da nang

and its probably because of the travel agency: hava travel

To be honest I just tagged along with my family and didnt see the itinerary before i made the final decision to go.

The package was ~30K php (500 USD) which includes two way plane ticket, 30kg luggage, 5 days 4 nights. Meals included but some days dinner/ lunch not included. I was with families and seniors, they were nice and chill, wasnt rly afraid to complain abt the bs theyre putting us through which is important.

First of all the food.

They take you to these restaurants directed for group dining, and divide you by group. The seniors i was with complained how bland the food was (lol) and I agree. Most of the time it was seafood hot pot that has more vegetables than seafood. I didnt really like the flavor since the taste of the mint was overpowering, tinola and bulalo over that everyday. To be honest it gave a very bad light on vietnamese food since it was just so meh.

You can leave lunch/dinner if the tour guide doesnt have any plans after/returns to the hotel. Fortunately I convinced my family to go to a michelin selected restaurant and it was really really good there, and just deepened my disappointment with the agency even more since I know the food could be good they just chose the cheapest most blandest option.

By the way, the tour guide can shift the schedule around to what he thinks is more efficient so the itinerary you get isnt even guaranteed lol..

What I mean by ‘shifting around’/pabagobago siya is that there are 3 optional tours, and some parts of the itinerary is that optional tour.

The tour guide tries VERY HARD to convince you to buy it. Tells you that you can spend now earn it later, how its a once in a lifetime experience, etc. Its around just 4-5kphp for a cruise and some shows, and the entire bus of 35 people didnt want to go, so we went home earlier than usual every day. The tour guide was noticeably grumpier after that lol..

The first 2 days was fine, incredibly hot and tiringg though. You need yo be at the airport by 10 pm and the flight gets you to da nang at around 3-4 am and you have to immediately jump into the tour without getting to unpack or rest since the check in at 2 pm.

So fuckign exhausting esp. with the hot weather. It was such a waste since it wouldve been more enjoyable if we just had a few more hours to rest.

Also the hotel lobby doesnt have AC and they drop you off at 12 nn, so you have to wait 2 hrs in a crowded, hot lobby..

Another note may isang kasama samin na dialysis patient and we had to ask the TG to slow down for all the other old people cuz he was not rly being considerate 😭🫩

The rest of the week however was literally just taking advantage of old people and treating us as cash pigs. I am not exaggerating when I say that they take you to shops the whole 3 days and literally make you wait for hours to force/coerce you to buy overpriced shit 🫩🫩🫩🫩 it was really awful and i felt bad for the seniors i was with because they js sat waiting around for the time to run out (i was w them too lol). NOT TO MENTION THE WHOLE TIME IT WAS HOT SO IT JS MADE THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE WORSE.

Also, you CANNOT OPT OUT OF THE SHOP GOING. THERE IS A PENALTY OF 100 USD PER PAX IF YOU LEAVE?? So youre literally forced to sit out the whole boring experience and the saleslady talking your ear off the buy it. However there was a moment where the grps managed to get a 45k discount (700 usd) on the silk sheet package because we all kept xomplaining how expensive it is lol.. (for context they were trying to market to us a 1,000$+ silk bedsheet set like what the fuck)

If you want an authentic da nang experience absolutely do not book here. Kahit ‘sulit’ pa yung package, sobrang shit ng experience lol

I also ordered some banh mi on grab and holy shit it was so good.
