Search Engine That Works on legacy IOS [Wiby.me]
Earlier today I saw someone post about how Bing still works as a search engine on iOS 6 which made me think about other alternatives.
Wiby.me is a search engine that only indexes sites without JavaScript so most of them function relatively well on older devices. Most of the sites that are indexed are from the 90s-00s with pages that haven’t been updated since.
Entertainment-wise I 100% prefer this to modern google and its competitors.
It’s so fun to stumble across personal pages from decades ago, giving you a good sense of what the internet was like back then.
Might not be the best choice for getting information on current events or looking up modern sites or any site with JavaScript for that matter but luckily, we’ll always have Bing for that…
At least until support for that runs out too lol
P.s. be sure to click on ‘surprise me…’ when visiting the home page
A few months ago I came across a review for some industrial album listed on RateYourMusic. (The review itself was for a different album by a different band)
I can't remember much about the review itself other than that the writer went on a small rant where he spoke quite highly of the album Quiet Desperation by the band Marrow, deeming it a modern industrial masterpiece of sorts.
Being a fan of industrial music I decided to check it out, but after hours of searching I came to find that it had been removed from Spotify, Amazon Music and Apple Music.
There was also no trace of it anywhere on YouTube, SoulSeek or the PirateBay, but I was able to find five complete songs and one excerpt out of the 15 songs from the album on a site called SoundClick.
I have no idea if this SoundClick profile is actually official though the profile was created 3 months prior to the release of their debut album so I assume it is.
On their official website the digital download link does not work, instead taking you to an empty paypal page, HOWEVER you are currently still able to pay for a physical release but I am skeptical as to whether that would do anything seeing as the site appears to have not been updated in years, still requesting you to download a 'newer' version of Adobe Flashplayer on the homepage.
I should note that I am not a very wealthy person and at this point, am not yet prepared to spend 15 bucks on something that might not even work. [Maybe as a last resort lol]
That's all I have for now, any help or suggestion is appreciated!! Thanks for reading<3
[Edit]: Just found their official YouTube channel where they posted skits to promote the album! Sadly no music except a live rehearsal of Forgiveness, two covers and the opening track to their second album which I all found to be a lot less enjoyable than the tracks found on SoundClick, the skits were pretty nice though.

Back in the summer of 2018 I discovered a music video in a YouTube playlist named something like “Music similar to Nirvana”.
To me, this song stood out for being surprisingly unique certainly compared to the other songs on the list which all sounded like unremarkable rip-offs to put it bluntly.
While the singer had vocal similarities to Kurt I remember the overall sound and production to have been much rawer and more distorted compared to anything Nirvana ever released on their studio albums.
The song was accompanied by a music video in black and white, the video was set in what looked like an abandoned house featuring a big staircase and tons of broken baby dolls, it didn’t look all too professional but was certainly captivating with its gothic imagery and disturbing and intense sound.
I think the singer was wearing a striped sweater which looked somewhat similar to the sweater Kurt Cobain wore in the Sliver music video.
I also remember that the band wasn’t popular, the video only having between like 40 to 90 thousand views and that it was neither a super old video or a new one, though I might be mistaken on that last part but I’m certain it had to have been released somewhere between 2010-2018.
I’ve been searching on and off for this music video for years and I’m sad to say I’ve got no evidence of its existence at all other than my own recollections.
I know it’s not a lot to go on but it’s all I have at this point.
I’m hoping for someone who remembers this music video to come across this post and maybe provide more details or even the name of the song itself.
I’ll also be glad to answer any questions that might help further this investigation loll
Anyways that’s all I have for now, thanks for reading!
