Defensive skill ranks
Looking at #1 leaderboard build (yeah, I know it's broken, but we're learning from the best here). I do not quite understand his chest:
Str
Max Res
Res Cost reduction
(Crit) Defensive Skill
Defensive Skill temper
Armor
Ok, Str, Max Res and Armor is standard. Resource Cost reduction is needed for constant COTA spam and more defense from selig.
But I'm curious about Defensive skill ranks. He's got Rallying Cry and Challenging Shout (raging upgrade), pretty standard for barb build this season. Question is - why investing into defensive ranks this heavily?
Rallying Cry ranks bonus does not give anything useful except a bit more speed
Challenging shout gives ~1% Damage reduction per skill rank, and on paper sound a lot more useful than Rallying Cry
I think I'm missing something fundamental here, but dont' know what it is.
I'm also curious why nearly all builds allocate 15 skill points to Rallying Cry, and only 4 points to Challenging Shout, as I'm sure RoH builds can benefit for more DR.
What does the group think?
On a side note, RNG being cruel and all, the only chest roll with xPhys I got this season, was on that "let's test this build" chest I quickly put together. duh. And ofc I "enchant locked" max res there so I can fully cube the chest, so I can't even reroll other affixes there.
PSA: don't be a noob like me, and masterwork it first!
Advice on a Selig
Immortal selig, standard issue build. After about 3k crafts the unicorn dropped. Very pretty, very shiny.
I'm assuming I used up all my luck for this season and hoping that transfig will not be an unspeakable value. So this will be main amu for a while.
Now the first world problems begin:
Which affix to reroll?
What to reroll to?
What temper?
I'd like to keep GA Res Gen, and reroll Str to Max Resource. This will certainly be a boost. But Phys damage also looks good.
On the other hand res gen can be rolled in other places, so it's not that big of a deal.
Temper - cooldown definitely. After some lengthy discussion with a fellow barbarian - my thinking now is as follows: all dps based tempers are additive, and being put into an additive bucket. So even if a number is large, like +60% vuln damage, in reality it's pretty small, as this bonus being put into an already large additive bucket and overall it would not make much of a difference. Cooldown is another story: all cd reductions are additive across the board, and you get what it says on the tin. In reality however slotting amu with cooldown temper only reducest WotB cooldown by about 1-2 seconds on my config, but it may free up another slot or transfig.
Thoughs? Suggestions? Any help greatly appreciated.
Minmaxing immortal selig
Started with maxroll guide, but made a few tweaks to it before mythic fix: primarily resource generation in most of the places. Right now going back to maxroll layout, slowly removing res gen. Pretty much steamrolling everything except Mephisto. Meph is steamrolling me. Right now trying to minmax it further, want to take my power fantasy to the limit.
Currently have this:
https://i.imgur.com/aKJhi7c.jpeg
Crit chance: 95%
Crit dmg: 6380
Vulnerable: 517%
All damage 326%
Physical: 516%
Health: 595
Fury: 706
Armor: 80%
Resistances: 76-80%
Have a bunch of questions:
Is there a good guide with all the necessary breakpoints on cc, crit dmg, vulnerable etc?
Is All Damage a good stat to sprinkle across the build or not?
Current Health is 595 - which is almost unkillable. Few things can kill me - a combination of lag and large amount of boss attacks, and stacking poison puddles. And Mephisto. Only have 1 unescapable life node in paragon, have no idea where the rest of health is coming from.
What multipliers are the most important for the build?
Doing pit 120 in about 2-3 mins give or take, but want to push a bit further.
full gears

Appreciate any help in advance :)
gen2 L2 Widget Marlin or Zoe?
Guess it's my turn to ask that question.
F2P here. gen2, 2 weeks to first KvK.
Zoe 3.5*, Marlin 3.3*, both have L1 widget.
Doing a bit of everything, and also R4 of #1 alliance, so sometimes is necessary to dish out some "educational damage". Building into meta - Inf -> Cav -> Arch. with a slight more focus on Archers because of Bear. Decent ~50ish Arena win bracket.
Finally after some scheming, plotting, bribery, extortion and an endless grind getting 10 widgets shards.
So the question is: Zoe Widget or Marlin widget? Zoe defensive skill not really for me, not going to be garrison lead, but widget level also increase infantry stats, which is good. Marlin L2 widget skill looks very nice, and serves bear damage.
So, what should I choose and preferably why, as I'll be asnwering this question a lot to my server :)
Any strategies against "freedom fighters"?
Because of some events we ended up with 3 loose players with very loose screws. (If there were any screws to begin with).
They are running guerilla "freedom fighting" campaign:
- Gang up against farming alliances
- joining in to clans with autorecruitment on and causing havoc
- throwing shit in WC
And being a nuisance in general. One of them went completely mental, another is stubborn, third one went quiet.
We put them to jail. Continiously posting notices in WC. Reported most offensive comments to Customer Support. And repeatedly burning them multiple times per day.
This is 3rd week into gen2, so troop strength is not large, but still a full infirmary of troops can hurt a farming account.
Problem that we have - we cannot completely zero them - they are still left with infirmary full of troops.
So I'd like to ask the group - is there anything else that can be done to stop this disruptive behaviour?
And yes, any advice will be much appreciated as this is getting very disruptive to everyone on the server. You will have one very grateful server :)
Restarted 5 times on easy just to learn the game, spells, units mechanics and all, end of second week AI consistenly runs around with upgraded tier 5 units where I can barely scrap resources to buy a non upgraded unit.
It is after supposed ai difficulty fix.
