Saw like 10 police cars there

Just started 1L and finally getting into a bit of real work. Already I can tell the amount of readings are insane and I was just thinking of a different approach and wondering what people thought or whether I am up my own ass. For me, there is simply too much to read I find it impossible to get it done with the time I have. I can try skimming or reading faster but then I really don't have a clue what's going on. Going forward, I was thinking, instead of spending all this damn time reading, I would just look at CANS, summaries, etc. before class on the readings instead, take away the core message and then see what the professor says about them. I am just trying to optimize my time a bit here and rather than reading all the time focus more on things that will get me a higher mark on the exam like going to office hours, and studying the notes/takeaways of cases instead. Not sure if I am fucking myself or this makes any sense but wanted to post it here to get some thoughts on this approach. Thanks!!

Alright not sure if this is a good sub for it but thought I’d post seeking some advice or direction. I’m about to start law school for the next 3 years. I’m fortunate enough to have about 130,000 saved. Right now, I have it broken down as follows: ~35,000 in GICs, 40,000 in a CIBC index, ~25,000 in XEQT, and the rest in my chequing. I’ll have to set aside about 60,000 over the next 3 years for tuition, and then probably about ~15,000 for rent and living expenses. The GICs are about to expire and I won’t renew them I think. But my question is how should I allocate the rest? I am looking to buy a house following graduation and want the money to mature as best it can. What should I put it in or do with it? What accounts should I start putting it in etc. any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance

I’m a judicial clerk right now and start law school in the fall, but I honestly suck at my job. I’ve been in it for about a year (part time for 7 months full time for 5) but am struggling to learn some of the software and panic when I’m court and fuck up. I just got news today that I gotta get retrained essentially and it leaves me anxious for the future as a lawyer. My attention to detail I think is not where it should be and I lacked on taking good notes early on and have paid the price for it later on. Lots I could have done differently, but it leaves me thinking: if I can’t do this how will I ever be a good lawyer? Just feeling a bit bummed today.. not sure exactly what the point of this post is but I wanted to ask: are there any experiences people have had similar to this? I’ll be done at the end of the month so who cares really but I’m still just mad and worried for the future

3.88 L2 and a 161 and solid softs imo. Just got accepted today. Beyond ecstatic and excited to start. Releasing TRU and Manitoba A’s so hopefully that can help some people out (900 bones down the shitter for the deposits but it is what it is). This is a hell of a process and brutal to be in limbo and I commend everyone pursuing this because it’s a lot of stress, mental energy, time and work that goes into all this fuckery, accepted or not.
