"Abundant Destinations" solve the conflict between Free Will and Determinism?

I'm trying to find the official philosophy term for a specific idea about free will and destiny.

Think about how Grand Theft Auto V works. The game has three set endings built into the code (Option A, B, or C). You cannot create a fourth ending. The destinations are fixed.

But you still have free will because your choices in the game decide which of those three endings you get.

Is there a specific name in philosophy for this idea? The concept that destiny isn't just one single track, but a bunch of fixed endpoints that we choose between using our free will?"Abundant Destinations" solve the conflict between Free Will and Determinism?

What is the philosophical term for a universe with multiple fixed endpoints chosen by agent actions?

"Abundant Destinations" solve the conflict between Free Will and Determinism?

I’ve been thinking about the classic paradox of free will vs. destiny.

If there is only one set destination for your life, then free will cannot exist. If I am destined to be rich "no matter what," then my choices don't matter even if I sit on the couch all day, the universe has to force wealth on me. In a single-destination universe, free will is an illusion.

However, I think they can coexist if we change how we view the destination. What if the universe has abundant destinations?

Think of it like a "Choose Your Own Adventure" book or an open-world video game. The developers already created 20 different endings. Those endpoints are fixed and written in stone—you cannot invent a 21st ending. But you still have absolute free will to navigate the map and choose which of those pre-made destinations you walk into. Your choices dictate your specific outcome, even though the outcomes themselves are permanent fixtures of the universe.

Instead of a single railroad track, destiny is a map with many different cities. The cities are fixed, but you choose where to drive.

Does this concept of "abundant destinations" successfully allow free will and determinism to coexist, or is there a flaw in this logic? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I see it all the time here

Every day there's a problem posted, but nothing changes. If we’re not actually solving anything, what’s the point of just repeating it? We need to stop just venting and take real steps toward a solution.

19, Built My First Website, Now I Want to Turn It Into a Business Any Advice?

Just turned 19 on the 10th of May. 😏🎂

Living alone, taking care of myself on 800 a month.

I build websites. HTML, CSS, JavaScript self taught. I've built a few projects already and I want to turn this into a real business.

Looking for advice from anyone who has done this or knows the space in Ghana. How do I get clients? What should I charge? Where do I even start?

Drop your thoughts in the comments. Any advice helps. 🔥🇬🇭

want an online multiplayer game to play.

I’m using a low-end laptop: Intel HD 615, 8GB RAM, Intel Core i5-7Y54. I used to play Valorant about a year ago, but I kept crashing a lot, mostly because of high ping since I’m in Ghana, Africa. I also tried League of Legends, but the controls feel too hard for me, so I’m thinking of deleting it.

Right now I mainly play Paladins, Sky: Children of the Light, and Blood Strike. I’m looking for a cool multiplayer shooter like PUBG or COD that can run on my laptop, has active players, voice chat, and a good community where I can actually make friends.

Looking to start investing with a small amount monthly (around GHS 100–150) and I've been looking at Databank's Money Market Fund as a starting point. For those who've used it: How's the experience been so far? Is the app reliable for deposits and withdrawals? How long does it actually take to withdraw when you need your money? Are the returns consistent with what they advertise? Any honest feedback appreciated — good or bad. Just trying to make a smart decision before committing.

Hey everyone, I’m 19. I’m thinking of starting a small WhatsApp group for teens and young adults (18–22) where we can talk, share ideas, and make friends in a safe and respectful space. If you’re interested, let me know.
