How do you guys deal with theists?
Hello, fellow atheists.
As an atheist, you might sometimes feel an instant sense of discomfort when you see things being done in the name of devotion that don't make sense to you. It's even more complicated when it involves people you're close to.
Most of my close friends are theists. They find faith and peace in their beliefs, and I don't feel the need to collapse their worldview. We have a mutual understanding: I respect their beliefs, and they respect my lack of belief. I don't question their faith, and they reciprocate.
As long as they're not becoming blind followers or spending excessive time and money on it, I think it's justified in the name of peace. If they're ever open to questioning or having a reality check, I'm happy to have that conversation. Until then, I don't see any reason to distance myself.
For example, if we're out together and they want to visit a temple, I simply become Namita Thapar "I'm out." 😄 I politely wait outside, and they don't insist. Although, if there's prasad without a long queue, I'll happily join. 😂
With my family, I haven't disclosed my views yet. Most of the time, I just go along with things because it keeps the peace. If a ritual demands significant time, money, or effort, I usually make an excuse or delay it until it eventually gets forgotten.
So I've developed a way of handling different situations that, to me, feels both logical and peaceful.
How do you all maintain your stance in everyday life? Do you openly express your views, quietly avoid conflict, or do something in between?
Finally got a learning slot! Any tips? 🏊
I finally got a learning slot at the RMC Swimming Pool on Kalawad Road.
If you've learned or trained there before, I'd love to hear your experience.
How's the coaching?
Any unspoken rules or etiquette I should know?
Any beginner tips that would make the learning process easier?
Also, if anyone here goes there regularly, let's connect if you want to 🙂
Punjabi dhaba kinda places
Hey people,
Suggest some Punjabi dhaba-style restaurants that focus on great food rather than fancy or eye-catching interiors.
I'm looking for places where the taste is the real highlight, so others can also try without justifying interior 😁

Local CF Community
Hey everyone,
Are there any childfree people here from Rajkot, Gujarat?
Compared to many other regions, Gujaratis are often seen as family-oriented, so I'm curious to know how many local CF folks are actually around.
If there are enough of us, maybe we can create a local group to share experiences, thoughts, and support each other, and hopefully make some good friends along the way. It could also help connect with other childfree people in the area who aren't active on Reddit but might join through referrals.
If you're from Rajkot or nearby, drop a comment or message. Let's see how big our local community really is and help it grow. ✌️

Motherhood Desire !!
Hey everyone,

I’ve been reading about various experiences and reflecting on this topic.

As I can understand why many men want to continue their lineage, often because they may not fully grasp the physical and psychological realities of pregnancy, childbirth, and the demands of postpartum recovery.

What surprises me more is the opposite situation: when a male partner is completely on board with a childfree life, yet the woman strongly desires motherhood and chooses to go through pregnancy.

Given that women have direct knowledge, lived experiences, and countless examples of how physically and mentally demanding pregnancy and postpartum recovery can be, I find it difficult to understand that choice. From my perspective, it seems counterintuitive to willingly accept those risks and challenges when a childfree life with a supportive partner is already an option.

As a man, I'm genuinely curious about the reasoning behind this. For women who desire motherhood despite being aware of these realities, what makes that experience worth pursuing?
Religion degrading competition
We all know where we stand on religion, yet many posts here seem to turn into a competition over who can mock or degrade it the most.
Maybe I'm wrong, but sometimes it feels like those people are more interested in reacting against religion than discussing ideas. Might be those are just here for ragebait.
I'd rather see conversations about philosophy, personal experiences, stories, and different perspectives than keep playing the same game over and over.

Self-employed aka "Aham Brahmasmi"
A little exaggerated, but that's what it looks like from my lens. 😄
I'm here partly to rant, but mostly to hear your self-employment stories.
Currently, I'm standing at the edge. I have a drafted resignation email ready, but I still can't bring myself to hit the send button. Even though I don't have any major financial responsibilities,
Littrely, man I'm completely exhausted by corporate culture. I literally got "noonmare" (because it hits me around noon) where I just don't want to continue anymore.
It feels like I enter a building in the morning, come out in the evening, and the entire day is gone. Day after day. For me, it has started feeling like a whole-daymare.
So while I gather the courage to press that send button, I'd love to hear from people who left corporate jobs or other conventional earning paths to work and earn on their own terms.
What do you do now? How did you make the jump? How has the journey been so far? What surprised you the most?
Maybe your stories will motivate me, or maybe they'll convince me to think twice before making this decision. Either way, I'd love to hear them.
What's your philosophical stand?
Hello Rajkot mitro,
What's your philosophical stand? Which philosophy do you follow, and what led you to it?
How did you arrive at that viewpoint, and why does it seem reasonable to you?
Personally, I've explored ideas such as Stoicism, antinatalism, and atheism. Each has influenced the way I think about life, responsibility, and meaning in different ways.
I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences from across the philosophical spectrum. Let's keep the discussion open-minded and respectful.

Anyone from india here ?
I’ve been part of this community for the past 10–11 months, and I’m genuinely glad I came across this philosophy. It helped me explore different aspects of life and better understand what truly matters, what life is, and what is actually within my control.
In countries like India, society often follows deeply rooted life templates, and sometimes following them blindly can lead to regret later if we never question things for ourselves.
So I wanted to ask:
- Are there any fellow Indians here?
- How did you discover this sub/philosophy?
- Was it difficult for you to openly accept or talk about it, or do you prefer keeping it personal?
- How are you practically following it in your daily life?
Is there any person who wants to sell or have suggestions for a genuine second hand dealer to prakash padva vinanti.
