New Puzzle Website
About a year ago I posted about a friend who had created an online puzzle game, "Letterage" and he's been working on more games since then. The result is three daily puzzle games on a website called "Playing With Letters" at http://playingwithletters.com .
The first game is called "Forage" and you are presented with a grid of 9 letters and letter combinations, and you make a word from them, the letters you used are consumed and replaced for a number of turns. Longer words give more points and the computer knows what the top score possible is.
The second game is called "Rungs". You are presented with a 7x5 grid of letters and you need to do a word search like game to find 6 words that vary slightly from each other. Then you need to rearrange them to form a ladder via shared letters.
The last game is called "Threads". There are 4 words on the screen, and your task is to identify the smaller word contained inside of each. You are told how many letters in the smaller word, and they must be in the same order, but possibly skipping some letters. This yields 4 smaller words, and you need to find a new word using one letter from each of these words, in order, that satisfies a clue.
Each of the puzzles has some form of hints that you can ask for if you are stuck. Things like, "One of the 5 letter words you can make starts with 'B'".
These games are all of the "One run-through a day", like Wordle and they are designed to be solved in just a few minutes while you drink your morning coffee or wait for the bus. None of them are super taxing on your brain, which makes them a good fit for noisy or distracting environments.
Worth a try, in my opinion.
