Pumping while missing a feed

I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding my 9 week old. I have a couple of appointments coming up and I can’t take baby with me. She feeds often, every 60-90 minutes. She needs to be fed while I’m away from her.

I’ve decided to pump only when I miss a feed! I don’t want to regularly pump. My goal is to be primarily breastfeed.

Are there any other moms out there that do this? Do you have any tips? Suggestions? Anything that can make this easy for me and for baby?

Night Feeds at 6 weeks

My strictly breastfed baby is 6 weeks old. She has slept 5, 6 or 7 hours a couple of times.

Recently, she slept 10:30pm to 5:30am. We loved it! Because, yay, sleep!

I got really scared of possibly losing my supply.

The last few nights, I’ve been setting an alarm for 3am to feed her. She gets a dream feed around 10pm when I go to bed.

And after that, I wake her up at 7:30/8am to feed her, unless she wakes up on her own. During the day, she feeds every hour! It’s a lot.

Am I doing the right thing? Is there anything else I need to consider?

TYIA!! 💕

40 Weeks Officially

Made it to 40 weeks and no signs of labour. This is the longest I’ve been pregnant. I want baby here! I want to meet her!

I’ve tried: dates, red raspberry leaf tea, long walks, stretching, miles circuit, acupuncture, reflexology massage, nipple stimulation, on and on.

Just ranting and venting about being so pregnant 😭😭

Toddler fighting morning routine

My 3.5 year old goes to daycare 5 days a week, 8-3pm.

Lately, every morning has become a struggle. He wants to watch tv while he’s eating, wants me to change his show about a 100 times, wants me to feed him (he usually feeds himself), doesn’t want to brush his teeth/use the potty or change. He wants me to drop him off. On and on.

I have to eat and change and make his lunch all at the same time too.

On top of that, I’m 9 months pregnant and with a baby coming soon, it’s going to be a lot harder for me to do the morning routine (or at least for a little while).

Is anyone else going through this or been through this? Any tips for a mom at her wits end?

Finally got my iron levels up!! 😭

At the beginning of pregnancy, my ferritin was 167. At 23ish weeks, my ferritin was 17. I tried iron supplements and fresh beet juice, steak and spinach daily. I got it up to 26. I still felt terrible daily!! Depressed. Zero energy. Sleeping for hours on end.

I advocated for myself with my doctor. They told me I wasn’t eligible for an iron infusion. I said IDK!! Tell me where to go because I will pay out of pocket if I have to.

I got my iron infusion (and it was covered!!). That same night, I actually slept well. For the first time in a long time.

One month later, my ferritin is at 263!!! Yayyyy!! I feel so good and I feel ready for birth.

Ladies, advocate for yourself!!
