38w4d preg

I’m 38w4d preg and my partner and I are both carriers of GHSV2. I have been on daily antivirals as a precaution since 36 weeks (1x 500mg valtrex / day.) I haven’t really had an outbreak since the initial one when I contracted it about 16 years ago.

On May 7, my partner had a mild outbreak he noticed and started taking valtrex but was not consistent with the daily antivirals. He’s probably been more consistent in the last couple days. His symptoms (pimples, itchiness) on his pubic area we noticed disappeared on May 14 and today May 17, he still continues to take the valtrex.

My question is, when is it safe for us to resume sex - with the main attempt
To induce labor.

I am hoping for a vaginal delivery and want to protect our baby at all costs. Is it best to just avoid it since I’m late in my pregnancy and could potentially go into labor anytime?

Sunny Side up @ 38W

I’m currently 38w and baby is sunny side up. I am freaking out because I’ve heard the back labor is incredibly painful - even with an epidural. My doctor says that the baby can flip anterior closer to labor but I am filled with “what ifs” on it not happening! I had a cervical check today and my cervix is still closed, but thinner than when my OB checked at 35w. She says I’m about 20% effaced. She says it’s still possible to deliver vaginally with baby in this position as well.

I haven’t really been active this pregnancy as I’ve felt so heavy and tired. I haven’t had any back pain either. I lounge a lot around the house reading books and watching tv. I started doing pelvic tilts / infinities on a birth ball and in a pool but I don’t even think I’m doing them correctly.

How do I get this baby to flip and how do I get him to stay anterior!! Am I freaking out for no reason? Help!!

Cervical Checks

I read a lot about how women decline them because they’re technically not really helpful, but are there any stories of how it has helped / benefitted you? I’m 37w3d and had one at 35 weeks but was still fully closed.

I am currently 36w5d and since 35 weeks I’ve had inner groin pain on just my right side. It hurts instantly as soon as I stand up from sitting, laying down, or exiting the car. It’s difficult to take a couple of steps but will eventually loosen up. I thought it was a result of my pregnancy pillow. I’ve been the laziest pregnant person throughout this pregnancy and haven’t done any prenatal yoga or stretching. I started doing pelvic tilts & infinities on yoga ball but it’s not helping. I tried to do butterfly stretches but I’m wondering if it’s making it worse. I walk about 30 min. A day to get some movement.

Is this pain normal? Is there anything I can do to remove the pain before I go into labor.
