Folks Really Need to Take Off their Shipping Blinders, It's Distorting their Views of Non-Shipping Posts

Okay, so I just tuned back into the sub after being distracted for about a week and good grief ya'll.

So, apparently, there was a previous post on the characters wearing glasses https://www.reddit.com/r/BlazeTheCat/comments/1vnh6py/do_you_guys_think_blazes_takarazuka_concept_plays/ and folks in this sub interpretted it in a shipping light simply because the poster made an observation that Blaze and Silver had glasses that broke the gendered pattern. For crying out loud, the level of Silvaze hate and insecurity of some people on this sub is next level. Do everyone a favor and instead of responding, dip your head in a tub of ice cold water to cool off.

Looking for Advice on Enjoying Test Cricket Matches: Should I be watching them with a “second screen” mindset?

Hi there,

I was wondering if I could get any help on what mindset I should embrace watching a Test Cricket match.

For context, I’m mostly an American Baseball fan who has enjoyed some T20 matches. I haven’t gotten much into ODI cricket mostly out of laziness. I can at least understand the mindset and appeal of it.

But Test Cricket has been a sort of barrier I haven’t yet cracked. Looking over an older post on this sub though, I noticed someone said they really enjoyed watching Test Cricket matches while doing something else and having a match going on in the background. Is that how most of you watch Test Cricket or do you all try to keep all your focus on the match?

Personally, my general mindset on any sports viewing is to focus on the match. I don’t like having my attention split because I don’t want to miss anything and I don’t like needing to rely on replay or backing up on a recording. But is this mindset of mine going to be a hindrance to enjoying Test Cricket?

Question about Mario Tennis Aces: Did Zone Shots discourage players from hitting lobs?

Hi there! I’m just a fan of the Mario Tennis series that recently picked up Mario Tennis Fever, but I haven’t yet played Mario Tennis Aces.

But I’m very curious about a balancing aspect of Aces. So, from what I understand, in Aces you can execute your zone shot in glowing star points which have been around since Mario Tennis 64. Does this mean that players were disincentivized from lobbing shots in Aces for fear of giving opponents a possible zone shot? I just ask, because I’m playing a lot of Fever lately, both matches with and without Fever racquets, and lobs seem especially more powerful now than they used to be. If players were disincentivized to lob in Aces for fear of giving an opponent a zone hit, that would really change up the gameplay in a fascinating way. This isn’t a critique, just me marveling at how different the online matches might have been.

How Active is the Competitive Scene for Aces and Fever right now?

Hey there, I’m just wondering how active the competitive scene is for Mario Tennis Aces and Mario Tennis Fever. I’m considering getting one of these games and how active the competitive scene is, is a factor for which one I’ll get. I know I’m hoping onto the train very late, but I’m getting back into Mario Tennis thanks to Mario Tennis 64 on NSO and was curious about the more modern titles

Genuine Statement: Sonaze is forced.

I saw the recent post about Silvaze and I think it’s time to finally come out and state the obvious. Sonaze is mega forced. The only reason it’s a ship at all is because Sonic and Blaze appeared in a game together and are opposite genders. If Blaze was a guy folks wouldn’t ship it nearly as much. It’s also another tired trope of trying to pair Sonic with a princess under the idea that his freedom needs to be “balanced out.” The cherry on top is that these biases lead to interpreting a mere handshake as some romantic gesture. When one takes off the shipping blinders, it’s clear how forced this pairing is.

Can I Have Help Deciphering What the Stick Chest Says?

Hi there,

I'm really trying to understand the Trunic language. I think I understand correctly that you read the phonemes from left to right, but when reading the text for this chat it's coming out all weird. It's hard lining up the symbols I'm seeing with the text from the manual. Can anyone give me a hint or correct a misunderstanding I have?

Nevermind. I diciphered it.
