Extensive Burning

new mom brain fog... I was pretty sure I turned the stove off, I didn't. Fell asleep with baby and woke up to smoke in the house. Thank God for the Staub or we'd have a fire.

Don't have a picture handy but will it recover? We used warm water and a wooden spoon to remove the burnt food but there seems to be some damage still. Has anyone accidentally burnt food badly and will my Staub recover ?

[on] summer break - How are you doing it!

I've got a 5 year old and a 5 month old. I'm currently on unemployment leave but I'll need to start job hunting soon and likely be back at work in the next few months.

It's summer break. My 5 year old is in camp some weeks but he's a deeply feeling kid and doesn't do well being thrown into new social situations. That limits our options and frankly don't want him away from home all summer .

BUT

Having him home with the baby is... a lot. It's constant "Mommy!" ...watch me! all day. Baby naps get interrupted. House is upside down ..(I also have ADHD which doesn't help this situation)

Im trying to give him a fun and engaging summer instead of parking him in front of the TV but juggling him a baby and the dog feels impossible some days.

Yes we go to the library and the park and I fully intend to keep doing that. But it isn't realistic every day and sometimes just getting everyone out the door feels like an Olympic event. Actively chose to be home during the heat wave so maybe this is temporary...but still

I genuinely don't understand how parents with multiple kids do this..SAHM y'all are heroes! How are you responsive and present for each child while staying calm and keeping the household running? seems impossible

Seriously please Send help... and your best survival tips.

▲ 5 r/ECers

I just learned about EC and have a 3 month old and definitely going to try it this time around! Some of the success storeis are so cool and makes sense...baby brains are quick to learn.

Question for ECers here - what happens during travel etc, if I use diapers for convenience will it be confusing for the baby? I could do it 90% of the time but when we're away from home or baby is with family it might be tricky
