Will I be able to sleep in the KIA Niro EV in the winter?

Financial times are tough.

Sleeping in an EV is so easy in the summer though! Wish I’d discovered this before.

Now I’m wondering how long I can make this last into the winter.

Is the heat actually going to be adequate enough that I can sleep in this car overnight?

I’m in New England so it’s going to be around 20-30 degrees F.

How to sleep in 2024 Kia Niro EV?

Who has found a way to make this tolerable?

I tried to sleep in it last night, the only way I could actually fall and stay asleep was to put the backseats down and stretch out diagonally across the back.

But I desperately need some sort of cushioning for this and I think an air mattress would be too big.

Who has done this?

How to run AC all night?

Hi all, I just picked up my 2024 Niro EV as a rental few weeks ago and am learning to operate it.

Is it possible to set the AC to run all night without turning off? I may need to sleep in this car a few nights a week.

I’ve seen people say yes for different models but I can’t seem to figure out how for this model specifically, and there’s nothing in the owner’s manual.

Thanks in advance!

UPDATE: figured out utility mode last and slept in it with AC running. Only lost about 20 miles of range after 8 hours. This thing is amazing! Thanks everyone.

How much of this is mold?

This is an apartment complex I viewed recently.

It definitely looks like there’s some mold around the shower, but it looks most likely superficial.

I do not understand the black stuff around the HVAC vent, though. Is it possible it’s just dirt?

I didn’t actually see signs of moisture/water damage…

I am extremely sensitive to mold so this is really something I can’t mess around with…

Has anyone driven just to cover the cost of the rental car?

Haven’t started driving yet but from what I see people discussing, it seems like rates these days for drivers aren’t the best.

However, I don’t currently have my own car nor am I in the best financial position to buy one.

Seems like if it allows you to get a discounted rental car (with some form of insurance included) for driving part time, that in and of itself might be a good end goal?

At least in the short term?

I’d probably go for a hybrid or even an EV at this point in time, even if I have to sit at a public charger for an hour before heading out. Gas prices make the plan less worth it.

How long did you have to drive before a landlord would accept it as income?

Like if I start driving this week, that’s not going to be enough to help me qualify for an apartment.

Generally, do you know how long landlords and property management companies want to see someone driving for before they’ll count it as reliable?

Hey everyone thanks for your feedback on my last post. I’m a woman considering driving in the Boston area, but honestly some of the stories give me pause.

What would happen if I literally only accept rides from female and non-binary passengers? Or does the app not tell you the person’s gender until after you accept?
