Looking for advice on finding a data-center partner for a gaming infrastructure project

I'm currently working on a gaming infrastructure project that provides both free and paid gaming services.
As we're expanding, I'm researching how smaller gaming service providers usually work with data centers or infrastructure providers.
We're particularly interested in eventually offering VPS and dedicated servers to our users, while also running our own gaming services.
For those who have experience in this area:
- How do smaller providers usually approach data centers for partnerships?
- Is it realistic to negotiate wholesale/partner pricing?
- Do data centers commonly offer free or discounted initial installation?
- What should we look for when choosing a long-term infrastructure partner?
