Lost my 7 year old cat to a blood parasite.
he stopped eating and drinking normally but was still using the litter box. I took him to have bloodwork done and. it took 4 days to cone back. I got the call Monday morning that he was severely anemic, 31% is normal for RBC, his was 12%, the vet suggested we rush up to have a repeat CBC because it was 12% 4 days prior. well we got him out of hiding and got in the car to go. the vet was 40 mins away, he immediately started foaming at the mouth and nose, and was gasping. 15 minutes away from the vet he had a stroke and passed. I've never felt so much pain and relief at the same time. watching him struggle to breathe for 30 mins then the stroke. Im just having a very hard time coming to terms with everything. This cat showed up 2 weeks after my dad passed and would not leave. So i took him in and named him Ken-J after my dad. We should've had more time. Please hug your babies a bit tighter tonight.
