Purchase Interesr

I was honestly so thrilled when I paid off my Visa balance last month because, for the first time in a long time, I was able to fully pay the amount due on my credit card. I’ve been in a bad financial situation for years and have been paying the purchase interest this whole time.

My due date was the 4th, and I transferred the full amount from my CIBC chequing account on the 3rd specifically so there would be no excuse for a late payment. Since it was coming from my CIBC account, I also assumed the payment would be processed quickly.

But nope. They still charged me purchase interest on the 7th.

The payment was credited to my credit card on the due date, so I’m honestly pissed that I’m being charged interest anyway. And, of course, CIBC makes it ridiculously difficult to dispute something like this through the mobile app—you have to schedule a call just to get someone to look into it.

I’m in a much better financial situation now, thankfully, and I’ve set up automatic payments for my CIBC credit cards so I don’t have to deal with this again.

For anyone who uses CIBC: Do you have autopay set up, and have you still been charged purchase interest even when the payment was made on time?

Swab Kit received

I convinced my coworker to donate to Canadian Blood Services. After a week, he received a swab Kit instead of the donor's card.

When I donated, I did not receive a swab Kit and was given a donor card immediately.

My coworker is now nervous and wants to know the reason for them sending a kit. Has anyone experienced the same?

New Plan

I purchased a phone so I can enjoy the plan discount. However, it says here that I need to activate the SIM to enjoy the new plan. How?

Monthly Millionaire Promo

Who here opened an account because of the Monthly Millionaire promo? The chances of winning are slim, but this promotion is definitely a very well-placed bait. I’m curious how the winners are actually determined: is it purely random, or is there some kind of criteria behind the selection?

I’m also wondering how they plan to recover the cost of giving away these prizes. Promotions like this don’t come cheap, so will the cost eventually be passed on to clients through lower interest rates, higher fees, or other ways? Just some thoughts.

Poor Reception

My wife is having issues with fizz connection. She can't receive calls and texts sometimes. I am the one who convinced her to move to fizz because I had a good experience with them. I did not experience these issues. Is anyone having connection issues as well?
