After a year of use, this is worth the money

After a year of use, this is worth the money

Just wanted to say that after a year of use the jessem miter guage is worth a buy. I have tried a few and went with the jessem solely because i like their other products (fanboy). And my oh my has it been fantastic!!

My only gripe is that the flip stop on the extension isn’t long enough to reach past 3/4 mdf.

The extension is stable, the ruler on the extension is true, it feels nice in the hand, the detents are very accurate, the micro adjust on the flip stop is fantastic.

Just wanted to recommend this to anyone with too much money that wants a miter gauge i guess.

I tend to use it 70% of the time over sleds as it’s just faster to grab, and the measurement setup on it is pretty fantastic. Also its nice and light compared to most of my sleds, and i can pull it off and set it on the back side of my fence to go between rips and crosscuts.

If you are considering buying a fancy weird crosscut sled like rocklers, give this a good look. I can’t be a happier customer!

No I’m not paid, i dont work for jessem. I just came across a product that after a year still is a dream to use and thats rare. So i wanted to share with the community

(The 3d printed brackets didnt come with it, i purchased them off etsy… and then installed them incorrectly lol)

Toddler bookshelf plans/ ideas

Hello!! I have a friend having a baby, they are requesting everyone bring a children’s book instead of a card. which i think is an awesome thing.

I want to make a little bookcase for them maybe a wall mount thing, or a series of small book cases. Any ideas or plans?

I thought about a large one but i don’t think there’s room, their walls last time i was there were reasonably open

Spray Foam Insulation Repair Help

Hello i have closed cell spray foam on my garage ceiling, i have a rafter i found thats split and I need to repair.

Im going to sister the rafter so i need to cut out about 3” of foam out in a 8’ strip or so (cant see how far its split yet) to fit a 2x in next to the rafter to sister it in.

What can i repair the foam with after this? I would just need a can or 2 not very much. If im clean with the removal should just have a small 1”x8’ ish strip when im done unless i need more in a few spots to get my gun in.

Great foam seems very wrong, and i havent seen a closed cell option at a store besides some boxes and kits for like $600 … i just need a can or two.

Help me out i just dont know much about this stuff

How does one repair the foam when I’m done?

Its blue ish closed cell, can i buy a can or two of it? Its not like i need a ton but id like to properly repair it. Unfortunately i dont have any way of not removing some of it

I assume regular great stuff isnt the right thing to use… i just dont know where to get what is the right thing.

Made some new bollard lights to replace my dads rotted ones

For context, these are exterior light fixtures. A lense sits where the cut outs are and a metal post slides inside and holds a light socket where a bulb sits

They came out great just wanted to share

What is the “limit” for what you will use your trim router for?

And yes i have several larger routers issue is the only 1/2” shank flush trim bit iv got with the bearing at the top is a massive heavy 7/8” fella and it just doesn’t work handheld safely

Have had these about 3 months, have gone to use these 5 or 6 times. Have used them successfully twice. The other times they got thrown on the floor and i pulled out the cauls.

These just do NOT work in any complex glue up situation. They are an absolute pain to get the piece into and get setup.

Save yourself your time, money, and mind; go buy pipe strut and some allthread and make your own, or just use c clamps

Hello i have to renew these cedar fixtures, they are just a cedar box. Does anyone see any reason i cant just do a pass on the jointer for all 4 sides? They dont need to be square so im not worried about that. Just take 1/16th off

I dont think anything would go wrong besides hitting the end grain of the “cap”

Just dont want to sand them all as they will gunk some paper im sure. Could maybe use a hand plane but again the gunking idk

Just thought you would enjoy my gorgeous delta 22-101. Ran 200 bf through it today.

Its an early 1950s machine, not sure that classifies as antique but figured you may enjoy it. Unfortunately I’m not sure of an exact date, just know it’s a 51-53

I cleaned up and fixed up this machine over the winter and it’s been great, wouldn’t say i restored it. I just made everything operational, fixed what needed fixing, cleaned it up nice, and put it to work.
