5 Days Off in Oct - Give Me Your Trip Recs Please! 🤍

Hi friends! I have five days off in October - a Wednesday to Sunday situation. I will be traveling from the East Coast of the United States (specifically, Washington DC).

Any recommendations on great places to go? I’m open to traveling internationally, and like a good mix of relaxation, outdoor time, and sightseeing (love the beach, hiking, exploring, etc). I’d prefer to go somewhere in/relatively close to the United States so I don’t spend 2 of my 5 days traveling (looking to keep total travel each way to under 5-6 hours).

What trips have y’all taken that you loved that would fit this bill?! I’m truly open to any vibe – beach, jungle, mountains, city, whatever! Just need a healthy balance of nature, relaxation, and activity and would love to explore a great new place! Thank you!

Vacuum recs for a 1 bedroom apartment

Hi friends! First and foremost, this sub has been so incredibly helpful narrowing down options for vacuum cleaners! There are SO MANY to choose from, so thank you so much to everyone who has contributed to this sub!

I I’m hoping that some of you experts on here can help me out with a final decision, as I seem to be suffering from vacuum cleaner analysis paralysis. I live in a one bedroom apartment. It’s a mix of carpet, tile, hardwood floors, and one wool pile area rug. I do not need anything super substantial due to the size of my apartment, which I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon (or if I do, it will be to another 1-2 bedroom place). I also do not have any pets. I am particularly interested in a stick vacuum as I do not have much storage space. No preference on corded vs. cordless. I am not trying to spend more than $250 since I don’t have that much to vacuum!

Any recommendations you can provide would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much in advance!
