Teen Skipper Group Shot

✨✨ The Important Stuff ✨✨

2012 University of Alabama Barbie #W3521

2000 Pajama Fun Nikki #24993

2000 Pajama Fun Skipper #24592

2010 | can be... Bride Set Target Exclusive #T3841

All rerooted, rebodied, and restyled.

✨✨ My Nonsense ✨✨

Since I ended my Teen Skipper project at the end of February, those dolls have remained dressed as they were for their shoot because I planned on trying a group shot after some time away from them.

I actually keep all of the dolls I photograph dressed as they were for their shoot while I work on the next several projects before returning the clothes to my wardrobe. This way, I don’t use the same clothes and accessories over and over.

It’s usually fine, and I actually enjoy the challenge it inherently provides, but this was a really big project. For the past six months, 26 of my favorite dolls have been wearing a lot of my favorite pieces, and it has left my styling options feeling limited.

After having taken a group shot of 20 dolls for the Basics Neutrals line, and knowing what a headache it was to organize it all, I decided to split the Skippers up into groups.

At first, I was worried about how I would decide which dolls get grouped, but when I looked at them all together, I was struck by the realization that I had essentially styled these dolls like they were meant to form little groups. Either that or I am seriously a one-trick pony, but I’m trying to be kind to myself.

I’m really happy with how the group shots turned out and how the girls look in their mini connect collections and I’m even happier that now I can take them all apart and redistribute their clothes so I don’t feel like I’m trying to style with one hand tied behind my back.

DOTW India Restyled

✨✨ The Important Stuff ✨✨

2011 Dolls Of The World India Barbie, Goddess face sculpt, rerooted and restyled.

✨✨ My Nonsense ✨✨

This is one of my very favorite Goddess faces! Like every DOTW Barbie I've come across her hair was full of glue when I got her so I gave her reroot.

I loved her in the yellow of her original saree so I used this fabulous top I got from m.creations on Etsy.

🔥 Hell On Heels 🔥

✨✨ The Important Stuff ✨✨

Barbie wearing fashions from ILY 4 ever Devil Wears Prada dolls.

✨✨ My Special Nonsense ✨✨

First off, I'm sorry I haven't been responding to comments on the last few posts. I tripped and while trying to catch myself bent all four fingers all the way back on my hand starting from the very first knuckle. It was... unpleasant.
There's some pics in the comments of it healing, nothing gruesome, just a lot of swelling and bruising. (I'm so glad I took off my wedding band right away!)

Well I'm just starting to be able to grip and bear weight on it and I'm happy to be able to get some moderate use out of it. I promise I'll get to your comments soon and thank you for understanding.

✨✨ My Usual Nonsense ✨✨

What began as a fashion showcase somehow spiraled into full scene recreations.

I got the ILY 4 ever Devil Wears Prada collector dolls and wanted to share what the fashions look like on Barbie.

But I can never leave well enough alone, so after they were dressed, I thought of making Andy before her since I have 2 Tori dolls who look similar.

Then I thought it might be fun to recreate the 'cerulean' speech scene. So I made Emily and Nigel, then dressed some extras, dug out some props, and ended up doing a couple different scenes.

It became a much bigger project than I intended, but I had fun, and I'm really happy with the results.

Brooklyn gets a cropped cut for summer!

✨✨ The Important Stuff ✨✨

BarbieStyle Brooklyn twists cut short.

✨✨ My Nonsense ✨✨

I was prepping her for reroot and playing around as I cut off her twists when I stumbled backwards into this fabulous look. I cut the twist very short and used a pet brush to pull them apart then trimmed a bit. There were a couple of small bald spots so I took a bit of the cut hair and lightly glued it to cover.

I really love a happy accident.

Devil Wears Prada ily 4ever dolls mini review.

✨✨ The Important Stuff ✨✨

Disney ily 4ever Miranda and Andy from "The Devil Wears Prada" collector dolls.

✨✨ My Nonsense ✨✨

I only buy ily 4ever dolls for the clothing, but at $70 each, I couldn't justify getting these when they landed. Thankfully, they went on sale and I'm really happy I decided to buy them. (At of time of post still on sale at Walmart and Target sites.)

I'm excited to add these pieces to my wardrobe, especially Miranda's outfit, since I thought it was a dress, but it's actually separates! Oh, and Andy's boots!

Actually, Andy's everything is fantastic. The accessories are all great as well. The coffee holder and cups are adorable. I will probably never have a need for them, but the lids come off the cups. The fact that they do makes me love them infinitely more.

The phones have personalized screens for the characters. Miranda's got a cute little copy of Runway; it's a solid, highly detailed piece of plastic.

Miranda's bag is fabric with a wonderful working clasp in front. Andy's bag is plastic, but I don't mind at all. It's great quality and highly detailed, plus I adore the scarf.

The coats are fantastic. Miranda's is lined, Andy's is not, but it has beautiful buttons and cute embroidery.

Andy's got teardrop earrings that are a little hard to see, so there's a close-up along with her bracelets and necklaces. They appear to be three independent chains, and I don't see a clasp anywhere, so I think I'll either have to remove her head to get them off or just leave them there. I think it's my only negative about this set.

And at only $35, which is only $5 more than the standard dolls, I'm SUPER happy with my purchase.

I'll probably end up dressing Barbie dolls in these clothes for a fit check. I'll be sure to share if I do.

I threw together my own Red Claw doll.

2026 Wonder Woman Barbie doll, hastily transformed into the BTAS villain Red Claw.

I was playing around with Wonder Woman when I brushed her hair straight back, and a lightbulb went off.

I dug through my clothes and accessories and was able to throw this sort of closet cosplay together.

I added the white stripe in her hair and painted a little claw on her shoulder, and she looks just like she did in my head.

There are also a couple of pics with my duplicate WW in her original form for comparison.

✨✨ The Important Stuff ✨✨

Florals and Fringe Play-Doh Barbie doll, restyled.

✨✨ My Nonsense ✨✨

I originally styled this and a few other dolls with the other Mixed Metals dolls I shared earlier. However I didn't photograph them because I switched gears when the rest of the Basics Neutrals dolls came out.

Well since I put in some effort getting them dressed already, I figured I should get a few shots to share, too.

✨ Basics Not Basic ✨ Complete Neutral Basics collection restyled.

✨✨ The Important Stuff ✨✨

Complete Barbie Basics wave no 2 Neutrals line, 20 dolls in total which includes 5 core dolls, 3 You Create kits containing 3 dolls each and 2 You Create Deluxe Kits containing 3 dolls per kit restyled.

**Top Row:**
Minh; Nichelle; Lizette; Rose; Pazette; Olivia

**Middle Row:**
Stoyan; Victoria; Sean; Tamika; Millie

**Bottom Row:**
Mbili; Elle; Waldorf; Reed; Fryda; Lara

**Some questions for you!**

Do you have a favorite doll in the Neutrals collection? (Stoyan!!)

Maybe a doll you thought you didn't like until you got her in your hands?  (Waldorf, again!)

Do you have a favorite of one of my restyles here? (Today it's Minh but it changes pretty regularly, tbh.)

✨✨ My Nonsense ✨

Turns out I wasn’t as finished with beige as I thought I was. I still had all of the dolls from previous shoots dressed and on display, so I decided to attempt a group shot.

This is the largest group shot I have ever photographed at 20 dolls. I couldn’t even take it in the space I normally do and had to move into a different room and clear off the top of a dresser to fit them all.

I used stand-in dolls to decide the layout because it's much easier not dealing with clothes and hair while doing so.

I made a couple of position swaps as I filled in the final dolls to even out height or accommodate clothing shapes (I'm looking at you, ruffles! You, too, tutus! Ha, that's fun to say! Haha).

I even made two attempts at getting everyone to look at the camera, but by that time I was pretty done, so we got what we got.

Ok, *now* I think I'm done with beige for a while!

✨ Basics Not Basic ✨

✨✨ The Important Stuff ✨✨

Barbie Basics wave 2 Neutrals, You Create Deluxe Kit no 5, Lizette face sculpt, restyled.

✨✨ My Nonsense ✨✨

We've reached the end of the Barbie Basics Neutrals dolls.

Twenty dolls restyled in an effort to showcase what is possible using items from the line paired with clothes from my own doll wardrobe. When I style groups like this, they all get dressed at the same time so that I can see them all together before I ever start taking pictures.

Lizette was the last doll dressed, and she had sat patiently like that for four weeks now, waiting for her turn to get photographed. And when it came time, I finally admitted to myself that I didn’t like what I did. I was frankly low on creative juices and may have been phoning it in a bit.

The original look wasn’t terribly dissimilar to what you see here. Originally, she was just wearing the dress over the pants with the inner skirting tucked in and the outer skirt flowing over her hips. I have seen this style pulled off successfully before, pants with a nice train, but this was not hitting it for me.

I decided I really liked the top of the dress for this outfit, so I got to work with my seam ripper and began picking out thread by thread as I pulled the skirt away from the body.

I liked the outcome: a cute top tucked into cute leather pants with some boots. But it was still missing something, so I tore through all of my outerwear, trying to find a cute jacket that would work.

When I turned my attention back to the ruffled skirt, I draped it over her shoulders and pinned it. I decided I really liked the way that looked, so I got to work sewing on a button and placing this little flower, which is just a woman’s earring, and now she has this beautiful ruffled tiered cape.

The only wig I had left to work with was the blonde middle-part flip wig. I tried very hard to get it to work in the way it was offered, but eventually, I pulled out my steamer, my comb, and scissors, and got to work.

When I was able to get her hair straight, I realized I wanted to cut her bangs. I started cutting them from the inside outward, and as I did, this odd little step bang happened on the side. I decided I really liked the way that looked, particularly in reflection of the tiered skirt.

I know this look is not for everyone, but I absolutely love it. And I love even more that I was able to pull back from the thing I thought I wanted in order to start fresh and create something I'm truly excited about.

Thanks so much for sticking with me during this project and for all of your support as I went!!!

I'm off to find something colorful to play with now, I'm beiged out!

✨ Basics Not Basic ✨

✨✨ The Important Stuff ✨✨

Barbie Basics wave 2 Neutrals, You Create Deluxe Kit no 5, Minh face sculpt, restyled.

✨✨ My Nonsense ✨✨

First

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the overwhelming show of support when I shared my excitement about Carlyle Nuera commenting on my pics and following me. The encouragement from this community is incredible, and I'm so thankful that anyone's even interested in what I'm doing.

You're wonderful, thank you!!

Also, I haven't been able to yet, but as soon as I have time to sit and think, I'll be sure to answer the few questions I saw in the comments.

Once again, Minh is a favorite face from the kits, so obviously, I wanted her to look her best! I pulled this skirt early and knew I wanted it for her. I built the rest of the outfit around it, and I'm really happy with the look, kind of a grunge ballerina.

✨✨ The Important Stuff ✨✨

Barbie Basics wave 2 Neutrals You Create Deluxe Kit no 5, Rose face sculpt, restyled.

✨✨ My Nonsense ✨✨

Is it weird to be mad at an inanimate object?

I was really excited for this restyle until it came time to photograph her.

I think this outfit worked better in my head, or at least would work better on a human scale. The problem is the top in the real world would have weight to it, helping to create the bubble-over effect, but since this is 1:6 scale, the top has no weight at all and just sat puffed away from her body like she was wearing an inflated balloon shirt.

I had to tape the shirt down to her shoulders and her back, and then I had to tape the underside of the tuck onto the waistband of her skirt so it would look like it’s naturally falling.

And every time I posed her, I had to readjust to try to make it look like it’s laying down right. It was a hassle.

I spent a few hours taking pics of her on Saturday, got frustrated, and when I came back to them, I didn’t like any of them, so I ended up retaking all of her pictures yesterday. Then the program I usually use to help color correct wasn’t working, so I used something else. Now  my husband keeps saying that the pictures are skewing green, but I’m red-green colorblind and I apparently can’t see it and therefore I can’t fix it.

And here we are. I was so excited for her when we started out, and now I literally don’t even want to look at her or her pictures.

A few pics of He-Man and Teela from the live-action "Masters of the Universe" movie. They are both straight out of the box, with only a brush run through her hair.

My first thought is that they both look great. I got them to unbox and customize, but if I were buying these as a MOTU fan, I would not be disappointed.

The likeness of the dolls to their respective actors seems legit, and the recreation of the costumes looks great. Nice fabrics, nice detailing. If these were remaining MOTU dolls and I had bought them for that purpose, I would be very satisfied.

But that is not why I bought them. I bought them to be unboxed, un-superhero-ed, and assimilated into the rest of my doll collection as new beautiful faces.

And beautiful faces they are. I’m only vaguely familiar with the male actor, but I feel like his sculpt is pretty spot on. He’s got a pretty great, if neutral, screening, and thankfully mine is stamped in all the right places.

He-man's hair is going to need some refining, though I am happy he comes with so much; it gives me lots of options. Like most short factory styles, his hair is rooted tight and dense, so I don’t have to worry as much about bald spots when I’m cutting his new style.

He comes on the superhero body, which I absolutely love with an asterisk. The superhero body is nearly identical in articulation to the buff Made to Move body (neck, shoulders, arm pivots, wrists, hips, leg pivots, knees, and feet), except the MTM has a pivot point at the chest. It's such a small thing, but it makes such a difference for me when posing.

I won’t have much use for his clothing outside of costumes, but they are nicely detailed pieces. The boots, in particular, have nice detailing.

As for Teela, I was very excited for her, and she doesn’t disappoint. Again, I’m not familiar with this actor, but the face on the doll looks like the face in the picture on the box, so I’d be happy if that mattered to me.

What does matter to me is that her face is beautiful and her screening is well placed. Check and check. But sadly, I didn’t notice until too late that she has a mispaint in her left eye. There’s an extra dot of white that’s not present in its twin. I’m going to try not to let it be the thing that my eyes focus on immediately. Because, and I can’t stress this enough, this doll is absolutely beautiful.

She has densely rooted saran hair that falls just below the back of her waist at the longest. It has a soft medium wave baked in from the factory, and sadly, the ends of my doll's hair did not come out unscathed. I gave her a nice soapy rinse to get the gel out of her hair and then a coat of conditioner to help give it some slick, but sadly it still looks dry and very fluffy—just this side of frizzy.

But I don’t know if this is across the board or if I got unlucky.

Here's your text with corrected spelling and grammar while preserving the original content:

She comes on the female superhero body, which I truly love, but also really hate. I’ll explain.

The sculpt, the shape of the body, is wonderful. The definition of the arm muscles is great, if not a tad on the conservative side, and the shape of the upper legs is really incredible. I think her waist is even a little nipped compared to the Made To Move dolls, if that’s your jam.

But the body absolutely crashes and burns when it comes to articulation. It’s abysmal. No, that’s not fair. The elbows and wrists both have a full U-bend versus the Gigi body, where you can only get about a 90° bend. Oh, and articulated hands are great. But that’s where my praise ends.

She’s a superhero who can’t pivot her arms or legs. Her torso can only remain upright. And it doesn’t matter if her feet are tired; they’re going to stay in a pointed arch! You know, for superhero-ing! Pretty disappointing as far as action hero doll bodies go.

It looks like I’ll be able to get more use out of Teela’s outfit than from He-Man’s. She’s wearing a white, sleeveless one-piece jumpsuit with shimmering copper gold (so says my husband; my eyes keep telling me they're green, haha) panels sewn on the sides of each leg. A high collar lined inside with the same metallic fabric and then a vest that sits loosely atop the white jumpsuit in the same fabric. I was so excited when I saw how loose to the body the vest was because I was certain it would be separate, but of course not. Sadly, what absolutely could have been a separate piece was sewn into the jumpsuit in the back. I’m expecting it's in an effort to save money by not needing a second Velcro closure.

I’m going to attempt to rip it off, but it looks like it might be sewn on in two pieces, so I’m not sure how successful I’ll be. At any rate, with some creative styling, I think I’ll be able to use the outfit with my everyday doll wardrobe.

I think that's all I got. If you have questions I didn’t answer, feel free.

I can’t wait to customize the both of them, and I’ll be sure to share when I do.
