Calle de los Reyes

Hola.

¿Podrías ayudarme a decidir?

Spain recommendations for a complex IVF case with low AMH and endometriosis

Hi everyone! I've read more than a thousand threads mentioning IVF in Spain, and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed.

I am a 42F with low AMH (5.8 pmol/L in 2023, 5.5 pmol/L in 2024, and 3.6 pmol/L in 2026). My history is as follows:

  • Low responder: 7 completed egg retrievals, 14 oocytes retrieved, and 7 blastocyst transfers. No PGT-A testing (it's not legal in my home country).
  • One biochemical pregnancy (implantation occurred and beta-hCG became positive, but the pregnancy ended before a clinical pregnancy was visible on ultrasound).
  • I've tried a flare GnRH agonist protocol, a GnRH antagonist protocol, milder stimulation, fresh transfer, and frozen embryo transfer (one FET resulted in a biochemical pregnancy).
  • In my last cycle, three oocytes were retrieved, but none reached the blastocyst stage, so there was no transfer.
  • The sperm donor we used in my home country will not be joining us in Spain, so in addition to low AMH and endometriosis, we're looking for a clinic with a strong sperm donor programme.

We would prefer Madrid but are also open to Valencia, Alicante, or Barcelona.

At this point, we're completely open to using donor eggs (double donation), but we would still love to try two more retrievals with my own eggs first.

Given my history, I've narrowed down the following options:

  • Instituto Bernabeu Madrid – although I'm wondering whether Alicante would be a better choice because of their Low Ovarian Reserve Unit.
  • IVI Madrid – also wondering whether Valencia might be the better option.
  • Equipo Juana Crespo – I can't find many patient experiences or reviews, but based on their clinic's approach, they seem particularly relevant to my case.
  • Dexeus Mujer, Barcelona

I'd be very grateful to hear about any experiences with these clinics, especially from anyone with low AMH, endometriosis, or a similarly complex IVF history.
