Any tips?
Just set up my new scape and I think it still looks quite bare… does anyone have any scape suggestions or less needy plants I could put in here as it is a low tech tank? Planning on putting a HMPK star tail betta in here

He is a HMPK yellow Hell Boy that it still quite young and will get bigger but he is beautiful when flaring and has a great personality.
Does anyone know a place that would sell one or any specific breeder as I have asked sea horse aquariums and they said there is no such thing as a HMPK betta which I know is not true. Any suggestions would be great as I have been looking for one for a while and rather not order one from Thailand.
My neon tetra got half of his tail bitten off by my highly aggressive plakat betta fish that I returned a few months ago for a longer finned one. I recently saw this big white circle growing on it. Is it an infection of some sort?
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice because I’m getting really frustrated with my new planted tank.
It’s a 110 L aquarium with Tropica Aquarium Soil Powder, driftwood, hairgrass, and other live plants. The current livestock are:
3 Julii corydoras
Amano shrimp
I’ve been running the light for about 8 hours a day and doing regular weekly water changes.
Instead of improving, the tank seems to be getting worse. The water has become even cloudier, and there’s now a thick brown film covering the wood, plants, glass, and other surfaces. I know new tanks can get diatoms and bacterial blooms, but it feels like it’s getting worse instead of better.
I’m seriously considering draining the tank and capping the soil with aquarium sand because I’m wondering if the soil is contributing to the problem.
Has anyone experienced something similar with Tropica Aquarium Soil Powder? Does this sound like a normal stage of a new tank, or is there something I should be doing differently?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
I’m on day 4 of cycling my tank with established filter media from my old tank. Do you think my tank is cycled yet? Days are marked 1-4 on top left of photos.
I’m using aqua soil for the first time and my water is just brown and murky and isn’t clearing up at all.. Is this normal or is there something I should do?
I moved my sponge filter and some filter media into my new tank and replaced it and these are my readings 24h later. I am also using aqua soil which may have caused the ammonia. Are my readings a good sign of a fast cycle and what should I do now
