afr.comAnthony Albanese reacts to Keir Starmer’s resignation as UK Prime Minister
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has reacted to Sir Keir Starmer’s resignation as UK Prime Minister.
“I consider Keir Starmer a friend and I’m thinking of him on what must be a very tough day,” he said.
“Serving in public life is a tremendous privilege but politics can also be a harsh business.
:When the time comes for Keir to leave Downing Street, he can be proud of the contribution he has made to the country he loves and to the Labour Party that he led back to Government in 2024.
“I’m grateful for the opportunities we had to work together to strengthen our AUKUS defence and security partnership, support the brave people of Ukraine and keep children safe from the damage that social media can do.
“I wish Keir, Victoria and their children well with everything the future holds.”

executivetraveller.comKPD, party of the Mittelstand
The new updates to redux are really cool, there's so much in there. Class war, five year plans (that actually are unlimited year plans), taking over the national media, so much.
Anyway in this game I went left and militant, then sat back and let the KPD fail in their revolution after Hindenburg kept refusing to appoint socialist majoriy governments.
But unfortunately I was short one resource so I had to back Thälmann in the presidential election and between the KPD's 8% and my 40% or so we won, after which they took over the country, banned everyone else but let me join the government (which was nice considering I was a people's party and had just let them die in their failed revolution).
At first I cooperated but when their influence got high I obstructed them until they left, and after governing in minority I won my own majority which kept increasing since I basically ignored everyone but the workers since they'd have no choice but to vote for me or allow a KPD government. Some of the middle class seem to have gone with the KPD after all now though so that's their main support base.
