I definitely agree with the prevailing idea that we shouldn’t pay 2 supermaxes at once unless they are good enough players and with the salary cap only going up so much every year having them both signed is gonna be a detriment to team building.

But then I gotta wonder why no one is on Derrick whites case about his contract. He makes 30 million a year and his playoff numbers the last few seasons haven’t been great even his advanced numbers. His regular season last year was bad but he had 2 good regular seasons with Boston before that. I feel like there should be a sentiment that this is a make or break year for Derrick simply bc of the new cba salary rules. I

If he has a similar regular or postseason to last year it’s very hard to justify keeping him on the team imo his skill set is replaceable at this point if he’s not a near 40% 3pt shooter. He’s a good team defender in the regular season but hasn’t really been one in the playoffs ( statistically) and he isn’t a high level passer or rebounder. Another thing to consider is other players needing new contracts as well too such as Pritchard Walsh and Hugo soon. What do u guys think would the Celtics move on from Derrick if he replicates last season this upcoming year?

Sanji doesn’t make sense to me I’m happy to engage with anyone who wants to talk about it.

He constantly gets to defy the power scaling rules of the verse but ppl like it slide bc he’s sanji and I don’t get why other than maybe to piss of zoro fans ???

This is what I mean- he objectively has not received a single haki bloom in the entire series. Meaning his arnament or observation haki hasn’t grown significantly stronger during or after any major fight in the series. That’s how haki growing been established in the story and yet I constantly see ppl compare his haki to ppl like admirals or yc1 level fighters? Can someone show me a scan of his haki blooming to prove that his haki has gotten stronger since the fight with doffy bc there’s actually no reason to say it has based off the manga, unless someone can show me otherwise.

Also let’s talk about the germa suit/genes. A asspull by basic shounen metric standards ( and before u say thing many ppl in wano got asspulls that’s not the main problem just thought I should mention that bc that is what happened). I don’t get it tbh what is special about this. He has the same exact suit his brothers have who all got low diffed by katakuri. So the “auto healing” and other factors have been established to not be a factor in a fight against any yc1 or stronger fighter yet I constantly see ppl reference it being the reason why ppl like wano or garp or admirals etc would struggle to beat him. The only difference between his suit and there’s is his is powered by his own haki. Which like I pointed out objectively can’t be that strong because he actually hasn’t had a single haki bloom in the series which is how everyone is the verse improves their haki. So if u want to say his is stronger yes ofc fine. But it’s stronger due to being powered by his own haki which none of his feats so far suggest are high level since he hasn’t beaten a single yc1 or stronger fighter yet with his haki.

Finally the speed- I really don’t get this one. There’s talk everyday here that ppl like kid or law would struggle to fight him due to speed? Um I’m kinda lost bc there’s not a single yonkou who can speed blitz another yonkou. There’s not a single yonkou who can speed blitz another yonkou. Yet there’s a mass of ppl who think sanji can do this to any non admiral fighter? Let me be clear here it’s not just speedblitz I commonly see ppl say would be a struggle for these characters but also that any of them would struggle to hit sanji a single time? Like that’s insane to me tbh. No yonkou commander fighter has speed blitz any other yonkou commander fighter but sanji can do it to them all bc of what? He vanished against queen? That’s scaling against queen himself and doesn’t automatically mean he can do it to the rest of the verse let alone ppl around his strength level lol. Like the only way this could make sense is if sanji goes the rest of the series barley or never being hit by anyone ever again which I highly doubt happens. There’s just no basis to say that sanji can speed blitz or be hard to hit/tag mid battle when known characters stronger and faster than him cannot do that in battle. So why suddenly would he be a exception and be able to?

Again I’m happy to engage with anyone about this it just drives me a little crazy to see ppl talk about him like he’s goku lmao
