Is Indian youth falling for debt trap ?

As an NRI who left India about a decade ago, I’ve noticed a huge rise in Indian travel vlogs, strangely correlating to young Indians proudly showing how many credit cards they have. I’m genuinely shocked when I see people with just 1–2 years of employment holding 10–15 cards.
I’ve personally experienced a debt trap, so seeing this worries me. Maybe I’m simply out of touch, but have wages and disposable incomes really grown that much? Or has access to unsecured credit become far easier?
Are 5–10 credit cards actually common among young professionals in India, and are people genuinely able to afford them?
