This is my first Vintage Rep, I wanted to post it here to ask a few questions.

Does the aging look accurate between all the components?

I had it made with a tropical dial but when I received it in person after a couple days of wear I decided i’m not a big fan of the tropical. I would like to go with a black matte dial and was curious which dials I would be able to put into this case and where to get them?

Also Is there anything I can swap or mod to make it look as authentic as possible? From what I have learned the dial and lumes aren’t the best. I know this is a question that’s going to piss off a lot of people in this sub because “I’m supposed to wear it and not worry about getting called out because nobody knows anyways or pays attention” But I want honest opinions because I want to be able to wear it confidently like my VSF and CF watches.

I got my wife her first watch, A silver stick dial ARF Date 31mm. The quality with ARF is amazing. not many noticeable flaws. The date wheel is off center on some numbers but from what i’ve seen this is normal for 31mm even with Gen. The jubilee bracelet was also very silky smooth didn’t really need chamfering or the mineral oil bath. I washed it with dawn and that’s all it needed. Very happy with this purchase I’m looking into a ARF GMT for myself now. Post a 31mm if you have one.

When it comes to these vintage watches there’s a few I would consider “grail” territory. Starting with the two Buckley dials. I’ve always appreciated a clean roman numeral look on a DJ, Also the “Red Ghost” I have one being built for me currently so i’m a bit bias. I can’t wait to see it in person. Last but definitely not least. The 16710 Coke. That watch is my absolute grail and a tiffany dial just makes it even better. I can’t wait to get one commissioned through Ghost hopefully soon.

As far as what i’m grateful for, It’s going to sound cliché but honestly i’m very grateful for this sub. I wouldn’t know half the vintage watches knowledge I know if it wasn’t for subs like this. Also how could I not be thankful for all the giveaways.

If there was any watch that would be my dream watch this would be it. The black ceramic just adds an amazing look that you would have to see in person. This puts the Open double balance to shame. Everyone has one of those. 🤣

This is my post for the DJ giveaway, My favorite place i’ve traveled to is Tokyo. Just a stock BPF with a flat 4 insert. I know that this model isn’t necessarily a vintage watch being from early 2000s. I consider anything over 20 years old vintage imo. This is one of my favorite vintage subs based on how many different bezel insert variants and dial variants.

I used to think the small “ft” in 1000ft and floating m were a dead giveaway but I recently found out they made gen dials exactly like this one. Some of the older maxi sub dial fonts were just different from how precise the new ones are. If anyone has any info on that please lmk I’d love to learn more.
