New to Bilt, Obsidian on the way. Need advice/clarification!

Hey everyone,

Just purchased my first home and gettinf Bilt for the mortgage, but especially looking to save points to redeem towards a down payment of another home in the future (2-3 yrs).

I don't travel or eat out much and don't really see that changing, hence why I didnt go with Palladium.

Am I correct about a few things:

  1. Double points on Rent Day (1st of every month) with a limit of 1000pts from this specific bonus

  2. with my preference set to Grocery instead of Dining, it'll be a 6x multiplier so I'll need to spend about $167 in groceries on the first of every month to max out the Rent Day bonus

  3. I typically grocery shop at Giant, will using Bilt card to buy a Giant supermarket gift card also earn the rent Day bonus?

  4. all Bilt cash, even the $200 I got as my Obsidian signup bonus, can be converted to pts

  5. In my situation its best to try to match my mortgage ($2244.63/mo) in non housing purchases monthly, as the 1.25c pts will outweight the Bilt Cash > Pts conversions and be less of a hassle?

What else am I missing?

Anything else you guys recommend for me?

Company Overtime Clarification

I'm an employee but need clarification on Overtime specifically for payroll purposes.

Do any weekly hours above 40hrs count as OT?

It 1.5x multiplier applied to ALL hours above 40hrs?

For GMs specifically, when do our VPs and corporate get flagged for too much allowable overtime? 46hrs and up?

Appreciate all insight, thanks!

As a hopeful employee that has always been concerned with our "marketing team" ... Can someone tell me how many locations actually look like this IG ad?

Like... come on. As a long term employee in a very successful market I'd argue this is borderline false advertising

Fellow GMs, what do you honestly think of the new pay plan?

I'm quite certain its a company wide pay plan, but for those not involved:

● No threshold, but flat 10% of all new sales

- I personally don't like this because a 99/30 which used to get me $45 commission now pays $16

● 1% every month of PT and Pilates dues base, and new sales ("revenue")

● Team Commissiom Bonus

(40% commission of all sales made my AGM, SCs, and CSDs. CSD is a new hybrid FD/sales role)

- I don't like this cut because to my knowledge you don't get a cut of sales from regular Front Desk staff (openers and closers), and SC and CSD commission for both Fitness and Pilates is a flat $5... which of course 40% of is not much

● Top 30% Tier Bonus

- Discourages sales of 1yr PIFs, which are minimum ~$40 commission minimum

- Most recent pay plans of last two years paid $2000 for just hitting 80% of goal and "rolling forward"

- now your raw eft avg is up against other similarly tiered clubs' eft avgs, ethical sales be damned

Starting a report with HR against a VP for threats, intimidation, bullying. Should I continue report?

Please do read the body of this post and the provided screenshot below in comments by myself before just adding what I already know, that "HR isnt my friend."

Looking for serious insight. Thank you.

Have a certain VP as my direct supervisor for several months now. They're well-tenured in their role, over 10 years I believe. They're not very corporate, try to come off as "I'm your buddy not your boss" and "I always have your back" but will often threaten our teams jobs directly, or claim that a higher-up wants team members out but he himself is personally "vouching for us" etc. Also on team calls/meetings they have strangely, generally and not targeting or addressing anyone, said something to the effect "don't even think about reporting me to HR because if its me or you... I promise it'll always be me." Basically stating that reporting his behaviors or wrongdoing is futile, and the company will always choose him over the employee one way or another.

Might be important to say I do work for a mega corporation within the US and am a location manager to an important and sought after location.

I have had prior incidents between said VP where they have been very quick to threaten my job (just like in the screenshot) but that was during a quick phone call and not recorded. I don't have proof of it. I did attempt after that disagreement to set boundaries about that and other things, and they brushed it off and I kinda had no choice to but to try to just make nice and continue with my job.

Aside from the screenshot provided, I have documented evidence of the VP, either through will or ignorance, delaying or costing me business and success in the form of B2B deals between other corporations, and costing additions to my team by delaying or acting without urgency during their hiring process (which they ultimately have to approve in system, whether they were part of the final interview process or not).

Please see screenshot below of most recent and unfortunately only documented such interaction of intimidation and threats.

Again, I do not have documentation of prior similar "incidents" of threats and outburst shared below, but I do have the evidence if delaying/undermining, as well as my steller performance in the company before having to work with this VP for the first time.

In our employee handbook under the "discrimination, harassment, and retaliation" section, it reads:

"All employees have the right to legitimately report or complain of any such discrimination, harassment, or retaliation without fear of retaliation.

Harassment may be overt or subtle. Examples of prohibited harassment may include, but are not limited to, any of the below conduct committed because of or based on any protected characteristic: intentionally making the performance of the employee's job more difficult; use of ethnic slurs or insults, or other verbally abusive, threatening or intimidating behavior; physically abusive, threatening or intimidating behavior; creating an atmosphere of discomfort or tension; and displaying offensive pictures or cartoons, including screen savers, that refer or relate to any individual's protected characteristic."

My question is... Is it worth to continue filing a report with HR if I want the behavior documented, not only for my sake but the sake of others?

The best case scenario is he reassigned, but I'm not sure thats a realistic outcome.

I don't have anything else lined up but financially speaking, I would take any role to make money instead of trying to prove or access unemployment. Literally almost anything.

I do prefer to stay in this role until I find something better, but I also don't want escalation, retaliation, or termination and the added stress of losing my job.
