Dune 3 70mm trailer got me more excited than the Odyssey movie itself lol

The hype I had for The Odyssey was unprecedented, I don’t remember being this excited for a movie. Well that changed after seeing that Dune 3 trailer in 70mm before the Odyssey 😂

New board!

Just finished seasoning my walnut end-grain cutting board! Took about 4 rounds to soak everything in and then applied some board cream afterwards. Does anyone know why there are lines in the top left of the second picture and should I be concerned? It feels completely flat and my fingernail doesnt catch on any of the lines.

First knife purchase - Sukenari HAP40

I am very interested in Japanese knives now that I bought a bunka for my dad for father’s day. I was recently talking to a buddy of mine who is also a sushi chef and he recommended me getting a HAP40 knife. I am the type of person to just skip the line and buy the end-game product so i don’t waste money buying other things when I know I would just want the next best thing afterwards. In this case, I am eyeing a Sukenari Hap40 gyuto that’s about $730. I am also willing to buy a ~$100ish knife in order to practice my sharpening skills. Feel free to talk me out of this or talk me into this.
