Layover cancelled, refund question

I’m flying back from Paris (CDG) to Denver and have my layover in JFK, on the way to jfk I just got a notification that my flight to Denver tonight was cancelled and the one they rebooked me on wasn’t for 2 more days. I can’t wait that look so I went to check the terms for cancellation and the prompts for the menu were vary vague and i cancelled my itinerary which isn’t reversible.

My two questions are, if I go to the help desk do you think they’d still be willing to help me find a flight options?

And two because only one of my two flights was cancelled how much will the refund be?

Thank you!

Safe to climb on?

Was rappelling a route yesterday when a bit of rock fall appears to have hit the rope, the pictures show a relaxed and pinched loop of the affected area compared to a normal section. This rope is 6 months old, the core still feels pretty solid where it got hit but the fuzzy sheeth gives me the scares.

Luckily this happened near one of the ends of the rope so theoretically could I just cut that section off and retape it?

First time outdoors… they weren’t lying about the grade diff :(

Believe this route got v2 and took me a good few attempts, I think a big issue for me is the mental block. I consider myself around a v5 climber indoors, so I’m curious what advice you guys have about improving on outdoor boulders?

BD first light for mt rainier?

Wondering if anyone’s run this tent on my rainier and how it held up?

If not looking for general recommendations on the budget end (I know that doesn’t go hand in hand with 4 season tents) for rainier in late June, thanks!

Planning attempt Rainier this summer, and it will be my first real big mountain. I’ve been a CO climber and done some good prep mountains like longs peak via loft couloir and normal keyhole.

My current all round pack has been the osprey atmos ag50 which is not the most technical pack, but I recently got an arcteryx alpha ar 35l. Neither of these are big enough to bring on their own, and I tried fitting the alpha in the atmos, takes up too much room. So my question is would it be a ridiculous system to wear the arcteryx bag as a “front pack” just on the way to Muir with some light stuff in it, and then of course use it as my primary bag for summit day.

OR

Could I just strap it to the outside of the Atmos (empty)

My thought is that since the trek to Muir isn’t technical, worst case it’s just a bit more annoying of a carry.

Anyways what are talks thoughts. ALSO, if you wouldn’t mind: drop some budget tent recommendations for rainier!

Thanks!!
