Last night I had an email from M and S saying Fosse Park store is closed…
Anyone know why?
Anyone know why?
Anyone know why?
Update; 19 Aug. 2026: I’ve telephoned; the email was poorly written. Click and collect is paused, but the store itself IS open.
For those that experienced it; what was it like?
My seven year old twins were so happy; they both exclaimed about it (on waking up). Even they had become aware of the lack of rain.
The worst thing (for me) about this summer has been the devastation it has wrought on my meal plans!!!
I now realise I am an autumn/winter cook. I excel at warming stews, tender beef casseroles, hearty roast dinners, perfectly crafted risottos, spicy Pakistani curries and pilaus, slow cooked Italian ragus, wholesome fruit crumbles and lovingly made cakes.
But in the summer…I can do a salad and that is it! My family and I have had the same repetitive meal for nearly four months!!! 😡😡😡🥵
Do you feel that, with the continued eradication of the middle class, we are returning to an almost Victorian Britain with an upper class (the elite) and the lower class (the proletariat)?
Hello. I’m new to Reddit;joined today.
I’m the registered keeper of a car that was snapped exceeding speed limit (40 in a 30) in August 2025 in England.
Due to not updating address after moving, the NIP did not reach me until 15 October 2025. By that time I could not recall who was driving; it was either my partner or me, I’m pretty sure of that.
I obtained the photos and was none the wiser. It is impossible to make out who is driving.
Anyhow, I wrote to the police and explained the position; I did not complete the NIP as there is simply no option to say ‘I cannot remember’.
The police sent to me a letter stating that I was required by law to provide the name of the driver. Unfortunately I did not get this letter (the postal system is an absolute state at the moment!).
So eventually I received a SJP notice and I complied; pleaded not guilty.
Today I went to the magistrates court and repeated my defence but they still convicted me.
A couple of points that were jarring:
(1) the legal advisor, it seemed to me, joined in with the cross examination….
(2) on conviction, the magistrate told me ‘you admitted that you did not provide the driver information’ which suggests that none of the remainder of my witness evidence (that I did not know who the driver was) was considered and the offence was treated as one of ‘strict liability’ which seems unfair.
Anyway, would welcome advice on prospects of success at appeal. Thank you so much!
