Alumin(i)um?

Brit here. It occurred to me the other day that if you call aluminium ‘aluminum’ why don’t you have ‘titanum’ for titanium?

Genuinely curious

[April Fools Day 1957]

Someone from the BBC just came to my orchard in Italy and asked if he could film me harvesting spaghetti! He seemed to giggle a lot whilst doing it.

When does a ‘large village’ become a ‘small town’?

I’m watching one of those relocating homes programmes and that is one of the criteria. I live somewhere that likes to call itself a village, but has a town hall and town council!
