Wholesome city moment!

So bhagat singh chowk traffic signal is off (at 21.30 PM) and yet people displayed amazing civic sense and camaraderie. There was an unsaid coordination among drivers from all 4 sides. Every side stopped and waited till the rest 3 sides passed one by one.

Wholesome city moment, truly!

Itna confidence kahan se aa raha hai?

Let's just say that I happened to cross the entire GE Road today. And 1 out every 4 two-wheeler riders, was either watching reels or talking on the phone or holding the phone in their hands. One man had kid standing on the front and his wife sitting behind him and his brake hand had phone, he was on call.

Secondly, what's up with the scooty riders? I regularly see many of them riding with one leg over the other? Bhai?? Sofa thodi na chala rahe ho? Aur cool to bilkul bhi nahi lag rahe!

Amused and raged simultaneously.

Please recommend good and affordable stays for 6 friends

Hello to the mighty divine folks of Banaras!

6 of us plan to visit Banaras post Dussehra for 3 days. Our maximum budget for the stay is 20k. We need two rooms, at a hotel with preferably with parking space. We are traveling with girls so safety is also our concern.

Kindly drop your suggestions. Thank you very much.

How to make soulful Broths?

Since we have a lot of food enthusiasts, home cooks and possibly Chefs here, I thought I might ask you guys as to how to make soulful Broths for soup or other dishes like Ramen. Where to start from?

I have checked many videos on YouTube but most of them use vegetarian or non vegetarian bouillon or stock with no clear instructions on how to make them. And how to quickly make them without burning your pocket?

If anyone can share their two cents, I would be grateful.

Kitty Aunties need to calm down

Visited Chaileela. I had to literally shout to talk to my friend because kitty aunties were talking so loudly (screaming contiually) that it was deafening. Some people left due to the cacophony.

Experienced the same in TAN and OKIRO during recent visits.

Everyone has the right to enjoy with their friends but one must realise that other people also have come to enjoy with their friends. So, some civic sense in public space is highly desirable and appreciated.

A writer that deserves a huge recognition

I wanted to write this post in Hindi but I would love if this post travels across the world (atleast to Indian diaspora) as the author I am going to talk about deserves all the fame and recognition.

Back in 2022, I came across Pratilipi App which is meant for Hindi writers and I got hooked to their really interesting Horror stories.

I discovered 'Meri Saamne wali Khidki mei' by Varsha Shrivastava. And oh my good God! What an absolutely mind-blowing roller coaster ride!

It starts with Horror but slowly transcends to romance, drama, tragedy, action and thriller.

It's a story about a guy named Aarush who visits his maternal uncle and was made to stay at his cousin's room who was abroad. His life turns upside down when he falls in love with the girl he sees on the window of the neighboring house, only to find out that there was no house there!!

Varsha Shrivastava deserves all the accolades and the highest literature awards for writing this masterpiece. She is master of crafting emotions through her engaging storytelling. I remember I read for 10 hours straight to finish this book.

I read it on the App. And it's written in Hindi. I am not sure whether this work would be translated into physical book. It MUST! If possible, adapt it to the web series. It will explode! Stories like these and writers like these are God sent!

Varsha ma'am, I couldn't find you on socials or anywhere for that matter to express my gratitude but if you are reading this, thank you for writing one of the best pieces of contemporary Hindi literature. Lahiri ji now lives in my head and heart, rent free. Thank you. ♥️

Absence of parks and green space in this city

The absence of parks and similar green spaces in my city, Raipur, is worrisome, especially in and around non-gated colonies. I often yearn to spend my evenings walking and perhaps reading in green spaces. Even if I discover them, they are in other colonies beyond walking distance. Once I spotted a park with weird timings like 6-8 in the morning and the same in the evening. Many of them are closed all the time. Discouraging.
