New to TDI’s, is this a safe buy?

I’ve sold my daily and am looking for a tdi mk3 golf, there’s not really many at all for sale in the UK but I’ve found this one pictured and it seems decent enough the only thing that’s putting me off a bit is it’s on 216k miles.

I know tdi’s have a reputation for lasting moon miles but I thought I’d ask if anyone has had any experience with the mk3 tdi’s and whether I should wait till one with slightly less mileage pops up or if this is a safe buy.

And what kind of things should I look out for on a mk3 tdi?

Thank you!

Ca18det breaking up at full throttle

I’m going to be doing a smoke test and pulling the plugs/inspecting coils at some point this upcoming week but does anyone have any other suggestions on what it could be that’s causing this? I really want to get around to drifting it this season but there’s no point until I get to the bottom of the stuttering. Any pointers would be much appreciated :)

How does licensing work in regard to pre facelift/facelift cars already in the game?

For a game set in Japan I was extremely disappointed to see that the s13 still has the same old body kits from way back when. I understand licensing aftermarket stuff might be harder but surely oem Nissan stuff like the Pignose and type x bumpers shouldn’t be too hard considering they already have the sharknose version? Or maybe they just thought that the sharknose is the most iconic s13 front end so just stuck with that one?

Picture is for attention

So about half a year ago I bought a 16 plate civic 1.6 dtec. It’s THE most dreadful thing I’ve ever driven, which I was a bit disappointed about as I’ve heard nothing but good things about a hondas drive (albeit the older models) and I just can’t stand it anymore to the point where I’m fixing the little minor issues it has and am about to flog it off.

That will hopefully leave me with about 3 grand to spare for the next car. I want something that’s not necessarily sporty (though wouldn’t mind it) but moreso has a soul to it and is just that bit more special than a daily commuter.

My specifications aren’t really that deep, a budget of 3k, it has to be a manual, somewhat practical, somewhat decent on fuel (say min 35mpg mark) and it can’t be a ford or Vauxhall lol. Not fussed about body style, fuel type or power. It just has to be fun.

So far my list is comprised of Yaris t sport, e46/e9x 320/30d, older civics and mk3 golfs

If anyone has any recommendations please let me hear them!
