Inspo for blank spaces?

Hi! Just reached a five star rating on my island 😝 but I have a lot of blank spaces so what do I do with them? I’ve got a campsite area, shopping area, two heart ponds with flowers, flower breeding area, two fountains w benches, crop/farming area and picnic area. I’m lost on what else to add but the gaps are annoying me

Newborn teething aids

My daughter is 2 weeks and 6 days old and was born with a tooth on the bottom right at the front, also a bump is forming next to it so I’m assuming the next one will be on the way shortly. It looked like some sort of cyst/abscess and then emerged at like a week old.

It didn’t seem to bother her at all at the start and my health visitor told me to keep an eye on it and start brushing it now it’s emerged. My daughter barely cries unless she’s super hungry and she’s been so unsettled today and really upset since 4am today, constantly needing cuddles and her dummy. I checked her mouth and it’s red around her little tooth so I googled what I can do for her and even frozen teething aids aren’t recommended for newborns! There’s literally nothing I can give her because she’s so little so I ended up using a little frozen teething star because she needed something to soothe it and it seemed to help her a lot and she had a little chomp on it as well so she’s definitely teething.

Has anyone else had this with their little one? If so how did you help them with the discomfort? I can’t even believe it to be honest I never knew this could happen this early! She’s also got a full head of hair and is so strong, I’ll be cooking her roast dinners next week by the looks of it🤣🤣

Edit- I just wanted to clarify I’m not giving my little girl anything literally frozen! I had to get the soothers cold quickly, popped them in the freezer, I defrosted them in cold water and made sure it was not frozen, don’t worry! I just do not want to use them frequently as her growing teeth may pierce them as they are full of water and that is not an ideal long term aid.

Reading books to newborns?

Hi all. My daughter is 2 weeks old and I’ve had my health visitor visit today. She said to read to baby at night and idk why but that feels quite silly to me. I understand talking to them is important and I do speak to her all day everyday and describe what we’re doing as well as cooing over/at her because she’s so cute. But stories? Like I’m pretty sure she’s not going to be interested in that yet? I’m not sure if I’m being obtuse about it but I just thought it was a bit extra. Anyone else read to their newborns?

Weird hallucinations half asleep

Hi all. My daughter is now 11 days old and when wakes me up during the night for feeds and I’m half asleep, I have a weird 2 minute window of believing that there’s another baby in the bed 😂

It’s only happened twice now but I wondered if this is like a common thing that happens postpartum and sleep deprived. Either way I’m going to mention it to my health visitor on Thursday because it’s SO believable in that 2 minute window that there’s a baby under my duvet somewhere until I realise I never had twins. Once I’m up and awake I’m so baffled to why my brain did that.

Advice on number of dirty nappies

Hi all, I had my beautiful daughter a week and a day ago. She is mainly formula fed (kendamil) but I will top her up with breast milk for comfort/bonding aswell as food now and then. Today was the second day without a dirty nappy. She has had multiple wet nappies, feeding well, comfortable and her normal self so I’m unsure if it’s constipation as I have been told dirty nappy ‘schedules’ are sort of hit and miss when baby is being fed mainly formula so keep an eye on how she is in herself rather than the number of nappies. I’m just worried as she eats a lot and I’m sure she should’ve gone to the toilet by now. I am a first time mum so I’m not quite sure. If you have any info/advice that would be great, thank you in advance x

Waiting for room on Labour ward

39+2, arrived for induction and was found to be 1-2cm dilated. Was given balloon at 6:30pm and the balloon fell out at 11:30am the next day. I was told by a midwife that the next steps would be taking me down to break my waters on Labour ward and it would be this afternoon. After asking for an update they said Labour ward is too busy. I’m worried I’ll be in here all week waiting. It’s 30 degrees and I’m so hot and they’re still taking in inductions so idk how to feel. Forever grateful for the NHS but I’m bored, hot and impatient.

Last midwife appointment/labour question

37+5 today, FTM. I’ve been losing small bits of my mucus plug along with some fluid the last few days which I assume is just apart of my cervix thinning out/ripening (I’m not sure what the term is). I’ve spoken to triage and was told to just keep an eye on it as there’s no concern for me or babe, they said it’s a good sign that my body is getting ready and to call back if it increases or if I have concerns. I’ve been having tightening and cramping the last few days, I’m unsure if that was losing the plug or that labour is approaching. Baby has moved position a lot so I have gotten disheartened that I won’t give birth spontaneously before my induction but all of these signs are giving me a slight hope. I’m in discomfort but nothing intense. BH comes and goes. I’ve got midwife on Tuesday and have been taking photos of plug and fluid to show and it’s my last midwife appointment until my induction so am I mistaken in thinking they’ll check if I’m dilated or anything? I’ve then got my last growth scan and OBS appointment Thursday. Thanks in advance🫶🏼

Baby moved position 37+4

FTM, baby has been head down pretty much this whole pregnancy and for some odd reason she’s decided to move right under my boobs. She was never engaged but she was pretty low down. I’m being induced at 39+1 but I hoped she’d make an appearance on her own just a little bit before then and she was showing a lot of signs that she was going to. I also worry that because shes not in position it’ll make the induction harder. I know she has time to move from now until then but she hasn’t moved this whole time I’m confused as to why she has.

Heartburn 37+2

I’ve had heartburn for most of my third trimester but my GOD it’s becoming unbearable at night. My throat and chest feels fizzy like a slug in salt. Rennies are apart of my nightly routine, I’ve tried gaviscon and it’s so much better than Rennies but the texture and taste make me feel nauseous so I choose not to take it.

If this baby does not come out with a full head of hair I’m asking for a refund. Anyone got any other tips?

Way to get fruit without Nintendo online?

Hi all. My islands fruit is cherries, my nook miles island has only cherries and I’ve been on 4 of Kappn’s tours and can only find cherries. I’m over cherries, quite frankly, I hate looking at them. I got gifted pears by one of my villagers but is there any way to get the rest of the fruit without Nintendo online? If not I’ll just buy a subscription cuz I’m so annoyed at the cards I’ve been dealt! I really wanted to do this on my own so if I don’t have to waive that please let me know!

Induction worries- visitation/birth partner

Hi, 36+5, induction booked for 39+1 due to baby’s weight and risk of shoulder dystocia.

The only available times were 6pm or 9pm, why so late? And I can only have one birth partner/visitor whilst undergoing induction and am only allowed two of birth partners when in active labour.

Just wondered what everyone’s plans were? I want my mum and my partner there when I give birth and if I had to pick one of the two during such an anxiety ridden procedure I’d pick my mum to stay with my whilst they try and induce labour for moral support. I just worry, what if it goes 0-100 and my partner isn’t there? The thought of not having both of them is making me quite sad, also that because I’m not in labour I’ll be on my own at night. I’m only 20 so this is quite nerve wracking not having my most supportive people available at the same time, let alone not at all at night.

Am I overthinking it? We live 45 mins away from the hospital and there’s actually planned roadworks for the next two weeks around the hospital so it’s not just popping in as and when. Let me know how you got on please 🙏🏼 TIA

35 weeks, FTM. I would say I can be an anxious person, I have ADHD and other mental health issues but when I fell pregnant and quit drinking alcohol my mental health DRASTICALLY improved. I was drinking heavily, more heavily than I ever realised and becoming sober and starting this chapter really gave me a sense of self. I take an antidepressant everyday (the same meds for three years and they really work for me). I trust my own instincts and overall, other than first trimester dealing with boredom and withdrawal, have felt really mentally well during this pregnancy. I have great family and friends, a good relationship, stable job and income and a new flat to move into.

I’m not anxious whatsoever about child birth or moving out but I’ve got this sense of impending doom? Like proper anxiety creeping up on me but I’m literally fine? I haven’t got anything to worry about whatsoever in my life and if anything I’m excited. Is it hormones? Is this common? Should I mention it to my midwife that I’m feeling on edge? Because it’s about nothing in particular I genuinely couldn’t tell you why, it’s almost subconscious! Starting to creep me out like something bad is going to happen😂
