A/L Commerce Finished, Tried Fashion Sketching Instead of Coding - My CR Book Designs!

Hey fellow Lankans,

I (F, 2005) just finished my A/L Commerce exams and, like many of you, found myself with a lot of free time. My list of hobbies includes computer games, learning to cook, traveling, reading, and I initially thought about diving into programming for game development.

However, considering the heavy competition and current market saturation in the local software and tech field, I decided to lean back into my background in Art (which I took for O/Ls). I've always loved pencil sketching and European fashion, so this felt like a great productive alternative to pass the time!

Just to clarify - these are 100% hand-drawn pencil sketches, not AI-generated images.

These aren't professional - just sketches done in simple, lined CR books during my free time - but I'm quite proud of how they turned out. Here are the front and back views of one of my designs.

I wanted to share this with the community to see if others share a similar appreciation for fashion design or sketch art.

Just to clear the air, I'm absolutely not judging anyone who loves traditional or Indian fashion trends. I just wanted to explore and share a different style.

Constructive feedback is very welcome!

Would love to hear your thoughts or connect with anyone else who enjoys sketching or creative hobbies!

Recommendations for structured academies teaching Viennese Waltz?

Hi everyone,

I am looking to begin training in traditional ballroom dancing, specifically focusing on the Viennese Waltz (standard ballroom track).

Does anyone know of active academies or specialized institutions that offer formal, adult-beginner instruction for this style? I am looking for structured group classes or studio environments that follow standard ballroom medal medalists/syllabi rather than casual event choreography.

If you have personal experience training at a specific studio or under a certified ballroom instructor, I would greatly appreciate your insights on their class schedules and curriculum depth. Thank you!"

Air Fryer recommendations and long-term reliability?

Hi everyone,

I am planning on adding an air fryer to my kitchen setup soon and wanted to gather some quick feedback on brands available around here.

For those who use one daily:

Brands: Which specific brands (like Philips, Innovex, Singer, or Midea) have held up well over time without failing?

Electricity Consumption: Have you noticed a major spike in your monthly utility bills with regular use?

Capacity: What size would you suggest for a household of three to four people?

Would love to hear your personal experiences or any specific models you highly recommend avoiding. Thanks!"
