I have realized that Burning Man needs to radically change and I have the only solution to get the event back on the true path. The answer is not get rid of the lawyers, it's not to move to a better neighborhood, the answer is really simple and critical to it's survival.

We need to avoid Interstate 80.

So many things have become too easy. You pack your stuff, you drive I-80 to Fernley, you head up 447 and your at the event. Its not a proper road trip and it does nothing to prepare you for Burning Man.

The only community that gets a proper road trip comes from the north. They leave the Interstate and travel for hundreds of miles on highways and byways through Washington, Oregon, Northern California and some of the most desolate stretches of Nevada. This builds character. It's hard to be a man wearing a bathrobe to interact with the tow truck driver ina remote stretch of Oregon who is your only way to tow your vehicle to a place where it can be repaired. Over the last 85 miles, there is only six buildings you can see on the side of the road and most of those are near Eagleville or Gerlach.

Driving in from the Bay Area, what adversity do you face? What experiences do you have cruising a highway that has the same fast food places you can find at almost any exit along the way. What you should do is head east with nothing more developed than US-50. Take it over the Sierras, past US-395, then head up US-95 to Fernley and to Gerlach.

Coming from the east, you are in for a treat. Get off 80 at the Bonneville Salt Flats and follow 305 to US-50 through the most desolate stretch of 50, known as the Loneliest Highway. Between Utah and Fallon, Nevada, you will drive by empty land, hot springs, the shoe tree and finally NAS Fallon, home to the Navy jet fighter school, Top Gun. You get none of this along 80. Do you see the trend? US-50, which extends from Nevada all the way to Maryland.

If you're flyng into Reno, follow the previous routes or head up 445 to 446 and over to 447. There's a giant lake with camping along the highway.

Coming from the south, US-395 offers a great amount of road trip experiences. Before you hit Reno, you should detour onto US-50, follow 208 to US-95 and completely avoid Reno. The residents of Reno would thank you if they could, and best of all, you deny them the ability to blame Burners for all of the issues they have in Reno. As if Burners made it a shithole in the first place.

Jesus didn't tell me to tell you this. There was no epiphany in my tent, I wasn't staring through beer goggles wondering if this is all there is. Instead, it came from a strong desire to mock all of the assholes who are posting about ways to save Burning Man, and naturally they will be the savior to lead you to the promised land. My desire is to help you have an experience on your way to and from an experience.

Now you know why you need to need to save Burning Man by avoiding 80.

For all of you who are planning on driving Route 66, you might want to send post cards along the way, and what better stamp to use than Route 66 stamps.

This is not an endorsement, yes you can use cheaper stamps for post cards, but the price is 78¢ and I feel it adds to the whole experience.

I am not sure why the three date rule* does not apply to the hiring process. It would help avoid a pointless interview process like this one:

• 1st Round: Test Gorilla Assessments and Take-Home Project
• 2nd Round: Four individual interviews with the Hiring Managers
• 3rd Round: Two individual interviews with External Validators

Six interviews is absolutely ridiculous.

*The three date rule is if you are not intimate in the first three dates, chances are there is no physical connection.

As previously posted, the Seattle Seahawks released their 2026 Schedule Reveal video and it is hilarious. But what about the opponents? they have videos as well and some of them are really good. If there's a common theme, it's lambasting the 49ers electrical substation debacle.

I am listing opponent videos by week, If it's rival we play twice, it's obviously the same video. Since there's some and smack talking in the videos, I chose my own name for the teams.
