No Plastic Nilgiris: A conscious effort

Did you know that in Ooty and across the Nilgiris district, single-use plastic restrictions have changed the way packaged drinking water is sold?

Came across something quite unusual—a Bisleri glass bottle against the stunning backdrop of the Nilgiri hills. What first caught the attention was the elegant packaging, but the real story lies behind it.

To support the district's efforts to reduce plastic waste, Bisleri water is available in reusable glass bottles at several tourist locations across Ooty, including the popular Boathouse and Shooting Spot areas. (Not a paid promotion)

The combination of Ooty's breathtaking scenery, sustainable tourism initiatives, and these unique glass bottles makes for a travel experience that's both memorable and environmentally conscious.

#NoPlasticNilgiris

Appreciate the initiative and hope we can move to lesser consumption of single-use plastic across more states in India.

An impactful meeting @10/-

Hi everyone

Sharing an experience where one felt the warmth of people in India.
On a vacation to Mysore/Mysuru, while waiting in queue for tickets to the light & sound show at the Mysore Palace, chanced upon an honest tea seller.
The queue was long but the vibrant smile and the energy with which he offered cups of tea to the visitors despite his struggles to hold all the equipment’s together, was encouraging to watch.
Had some chai over a small talk with him; ever so happy brimming with joy.
Made a realisation that Mysore is beyond the Palace, it’s beautiful city, green lush surroundings with disciplined traffic, and people like him who represent the calm in the chaos, spreading positivity around without having inhibitions.
And yes, chai was amazing, kadak, and right what was needed to beat the yawning at dusk.
Learnt that happiness is not in the money banks, but in contentment.

As the magnificent Mysore Palace lit up in all its glory, realized that the true beauty of a city isn't found only in its monuments and landmarks. It's also found in the people who bring warmth, character, and humanity to everyday moments.

This is a small tribute to people like him, one of the many unsung heroes who make travel experiences unforgettable. (PS: Please respect his privacy)

Water logging issues

Guess what …
This year too.
Despite the roads being dug up throughout the season, there’s water logging issues and no drainage solution near Rasulgarh square !
Watch out if you’re going towards Esplanade and don’t park vehicle on the road side.

Monsoon is yet to arrive but sadly our city is unable to handle the rains
BMC please improve civic infrastructure
It’s time govt should start taking responsibility and act in the interest of the public.

Update 7pm: Road okay now; heavy traffic
