Foot in the door opportunity I currently have

I have been in the Oilfeild for 3 months , I am currently a sand operator for fracs I have 3 months of experience ,I want to see if this is a good job to have to gain experience to get me on a frac crew or other opportunities such as flowback , floorhand , wireline .

Safety meeting

Every morning for our frac I sit down for the safety meetingthey talk about the same stuff over and over so I imagine they are talking like 5 year olds I imagine the company man ask everyone there favorite color is frac yells blue then water transfer yells yellow. then we start talking about pizza what’s your favorite topping then the safety has to interrupt and say GUYS WE NEED TO MAKE SURE THE PIZZA ISNT OVER 130 F DEGREES WHEN ENTERING OUR MOUTH then wireline goes I like olives and mushrooms on my pizza then crane goes I think meat lovers is the best pizza. This is how I get through safety meetings hope you can relate.

Nepotism?

I am new to Oilfeild and currently working for fracs (sand cord) I want to eventually go to college and get back into O/G with an engineering degree.

but a lot of what I see is rich kids with internships handed to them by there families on LinkedIn when it comes to engineering I’ll look in the comments , and all I will see is a bunch of executives and People who are “in the office” seems to talk down on o/g workers like they are dogs.

Will my experience pay off if I keep going get from sand to Frac operator start learning everything about a wells then eventually learning drilling operations, then eventually drilling operations take it to college with me and do really good?

Just want to know if I should skip the feild altogether and go kiss some ass at a University somewhere or should I keep going down what I think will work.

Need help deciding job

Hello , O/G

I am 19M I recently joined the Oilfeild. I made my first connection and got a job out in midland/Odessa as a water transfer Hand @16.50 a hour , the hours usually are 105 a week coming out to a 7 K after tax.

I have gotten a couple job offers/ Interview from A big name and a local company. One starting with a H if you know.

The large company Is offering me a shophand interview. @18.75

The other being a swamper for a local crane company. @18.50

The larger company is offering me better time off and more predictable hours
But I feel like the swamper position would be much more exciting.

Please let me know what you think thank you.

19 and wanted to seek some financial and a little life advice

19M , been working for a year , did door to door sales and side quest jobs I have 2K in checking ,19K in savings , And 5K in 3 fidelity, aswell as around 2.5 K in a Cryto wallet I do not know what to do with my life.

Did terrible in school just got high and fucked off and I have a terrible GPA (1.7) (now sober 1 1/2 ish years), I recently joined the Oilfeild and I’m making around 6-7K a month pulling 15 hour days but I know it’s not long term sustainable and I want to shift into either a higher paying trade while doing online college or do something valuable , I don’t go out and I have pretty terrible habits (bad diet, couple others)
but I’m good at saving money and I know I want to do something offshore with my life eventually.

I know it’s kinda all over the place but I am looking for some advice
