Feelin' pretty good

Anyone else feeling alright right now about our position going into the season? The met doesn't look all that scary, our boys are healthy and we've got some new firepower. For the first time ever I'm excited to see Lombardi and others duke it out for spots in preseason. Excited for Daws and Allen to become a star duo and for Luke to take his game to the next level.

Expectations have been high for us in years past but I feel like we will thrive with more reasonable expectations.

I also have a tingly good feeling about Quinn. Sunny left an open seat for him and I'm not buying the Quinn owes Billy G narrative at all. I think we might get him this summer. I think we will.

Trying to play out scenarios and signing with us seems to be the only logical decision aside from the 3 year deal everyone is talking about.

Trade Quinn to another team that's not the devils? Too risky for the other team at year end

Wait until the trade deadline to trade him? Less leverage than now

So I feel like we've got a really good chance.

Anyone else with me on this enthusiasm?

Dominion is a .01% engagement video

In terms of engagement, Dominion is an extreme outlier.

- Top 0.1% of all YouTube videos with 1M+ views, and quite possibly

- Top 0.01% for comment engagement.

My guess is that it has something to do with the sheer magnitude and resonance of the topic at hand. And a combination of trolls, defenders (existing vegans) and new viewers expressing their shock. But I could be missing something as well.

Regardless, I think this is a really good sign for our movement overall

We are not in control

It doesn't matter how a business is doing, or what the earnings or P&L may or may not be. It's not about who the CEO is or current Market conditions or the long-term vision, or if we're at war with Iran.

Stop trying to figure it out - we are not in control.

The market is controlled entirely by hedge funds and investment banks. They are more successful than they've ever been while half this sub is holding the bag.

A drunk friend who works for a large fund in NYC spilled the beans to me one night and detailed all sorts of nefarious stuff they'd do, including politician-related corruption and pooling money with other firms in the tens of billions to manipulate the markets. This might not be news to some of you but I just wanted to give this reminder

Can I safely withdraw 20k per year?

I receive a gift from my parents each year, and a friend since 2016 tells me what to buy. I'm up over $350k, and I've never sold a single position.

Recently, though, my expenses have increased. I no longer have extra cash to invest beyond what I need for day-to-day living. Between my salary (that will be unchanged but is garunteed for at least 3 years under contract) and the annual gift, I'm able to cover only my expenses. For context, I'm married, own a paid-off apartment, and have two dogs. Plan for one maybe two kids in a few years (which is part of why I'm asking about withdrawals).

I also know myself well enough to say that active trading is not an option. I tried it for a few weeks and found it extremely stressful. I'd much be long-term and leave things alone and then revisit a few years down the road.

My main questions are..

  1. Is a $20,000 annual withdrawal sustainable?
  2. Are there any major red flags in terms of exposure or with individual stocks?
  3. If you were going to make changes to this portfolio, what would they be?

If adjustments make sense, this summer would be the ideal time to make them. My preference would be to make any necessary changes now and then revisit the portfolio again in a few years, rather than making frequent trades or ongoing adjustments. Thanks so so much!
