BTC spot demand is close to turning positive

BTC spot demand is close to turning positive

Bitcoin spot demand has almost fully recovered after a sharp decline over the past month.

30-day spot demand improved from -206K BTC on July 23 to around -5K BTC today. It is now close to turning positive for the first time since February 26.

Historically, when BTC spot demand moved from negative to positive, Bitcoin gained an average of 18.1% over the following 60 days, with price increases occurring 78% of the time.

Do you think spot demand turning positive could be the signal for the next BTC move?

Bitcoin market starts to resemble the 2022 bear market

Glassnode says the current BTC market structure is showing similarities to the 2022 bear market.

Market bottoms usually start forming when profit-taking slows down and committed buyers begin accumulating. The strongest increase in BTC held by these buyers was seen during the January sell-off, when Bitcoin dropped to around $60K.

The question is whether that accumulation was enough to build a bottom, or if BTC still needs another leg down.

Similar levels have marked major bear-market bottoms in 2015, 2017, and 2022.

Trader made $1,430 from $148 but missed a $1.3 million gain

A trader spent just $148 to buy 37.96 million 牛来 tokens.

The trade worked out, but he decided to sell early and walked away with a profit of around $1,430. For a $148 investment, that was already a pretty solid return.

But the token kept climbing after he sold. At its later price, those 37.96 million tokens would have been worth around $1.3 million.

He made money on the trade, but selling too early potentially cost him more than $1 million in unrealized gains.

Would you be happy with the profit, or would watching it reach $1.3 million haunt you?

Michael Saylor says MSTR investors may need to wait years for returns

Michael Saylor said MSTR investors should be prepared to hold for at least four years, with seven to ten years being a more realistic time horizon.

He also warned that difficult periods could come along the way.

Saylor said share buybacks are not a priority right now. Strategy would only consider them if MSTR trades significantly below its net asset value.

Bitcoin market is stuck between selling pressure and long term holders

Glassnode says Bitcoin is currently caught between continued selling from short-term holders and relatively stable positions from long-term investors.

Low spot liquidity, weaker institutional flows and rising realized losses are keeping BTC in a consolidation phase. At the same time, capital flows are starting to improve, which could mean the market is moving toward a more balanced state.

This kind of setup could come before the next major price move.

Do you think Bitcoin is building a base here, or is there still more downside ahead?

Equity perpetual trading volume jumps nearly 79x in 2026

Equity-linked perpetual contracts have seen a massive increase in activity on centralized exchanges this year.

As of August 16, weekly trading volume reached $141.84 billion, compared with just $1.8 billion at the beginning of 2026. That’s an increase of nearly 79x.

Open interest has grown even faster, rising from $89 million to $8.29 billion, roughly 93x since the start of the year.

The numbers show how quickly traders have moved into perpetual contracts linked to traditional stocks.

One MARSCOIN trader made $282K while another lost $110K in hours

Two traders had completely opposite outcomes after CZ burned 4,444 MARSCOIN.

One wallet noticed the activity and bought MARSCOIN using 16 BNB. As the price started climbing, the trader sold the entire position and reportedly walked away with around $282,000 in profit within a few hours.

Another trader entered much later. After seeing the burn and the price movement, they spent around $133,000 USDT to buy 6.15 million MARSCOIN.

Then CZ said he would stop using his public address because his transactions were creating confusion. MARSCOIN crashed more than 90%.

The second trader eventually sold all 6.15 million tokens for only about $22,400 USDT, taking a loss of roughly $110,700 in just two hours.

Same token, same CZ activity, completely different timing.

Chainalysis sues US government over contract awarded to rival TRM Labs

Chainalysis has taken legal action against the US government over a procurement contract involving blockchain analytics.

The company claims that the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement bypassed established procurement procedures when awarding the contract to rival TRM Labs.

Both Chainalysis and TRM Labs provide blockchain analytics tools used to track crypto transactions and investigate illicit activity.

Now Chainalysis is challenging how the government handled the contract and whether the proper procurement process was followed.

Curve founder calls Pumpfun a scam casino for memecoins

Curve Finance founder Mikhail Egorov has criticized Pumpfun, calling the platform a scam casino for memecoins.

He also took aim at Phantom, saying the wallet doesn’t compare favorably to MetaMask.

Egorov had a more mixed view on Solana itself. He acknowledged that Solana does a good job managing its ecosystem, but said its best practices are still not particularly strong.

Strong words from the founder of one of DeFi’s best-known protocols toward one of the biggest parts of the Solana memecoin ecosystem.

CZ Says Bitcoin’s Scarcity Will Only Get Stronger

More than 20.07 million BTC have already been mined, around 95.6% of Bitcoin’s maximum supply of 21 million.

CZ recently pointed out that an estimated 10–20% of existing Bitcoin may already be permanently lost, and that number could continue to grow over time.

He described Bitcoin as a deflationary asset with long-term growth potential. He also argued that due to its limited supply, there simply aren’t enough whole bitcoins for every millionaire to own one.

The 10–20% figure is only an estimate, since there is no way to know exactly how much BTC has actually been lost forever.

Coinbase Bitcoin Premium stays negative for a record 90 days

The Coinbase Bitcoin Premium Index has now remained negative for 90 straight days, according to CoinGlass.

This is the longest negative streak on record. A negative premium means Bitcoin is trading at a lower price on Coinbase compared with other major exchanges, which can point to weaker buying pressure from US investors.

The streak suggests that demand from the US market has remained relatively weak for an extended period, despite Bitcoin continuing to see active trading globally.

XRP network activity hits a two month high as sentiment weakens

Sentiment around XRP has dropped this week as the price continues to struggle with recovery.

At the same time, network activity is showing a different picture. XRP recorded 49,929 active addresses over the past 24 hours, the highest level in more than two months.

This comes after activity fell to a two-year low in early July. While the price remains under pressure, the recent increase in active addresses shows that activity on the network is starting to pick up again.

Trump Expected to Meet Crypto Industry Leaders at the White House

Donald Trump is expected to attend a White House meeting with leaders from the cryptocurrency industry.

Do you think meetings like this can actually influence the future of crypto in the US, or will they have little impact on the market?

Tokenized stocks have passed 1 million holders

The total number of holders of tokenized shares has now crossed the 1 million mark.

The growth has been pretty fast recently. In just the past week, the number of holders increased by around 10%.

Tokenized stocks are becoming a bigger part of the RWA sector, with more people gaining exposure to traditional shares through blockchain-based assets.

Crossing 1 million holders is another sign of how quickly this part of the market is expanding.

Nearly half of Bitcoin supply is now in loss

Around 48.6% of the total Bitcoin supply is currently sitting at a loss, according to CryptoQuant.

Historically, when this number gets close to 50%, the market can move from optimism into a capitulation phase.

Short-term holders who bought near the top are taking the biggest unrealized losses. At the same time, long-term holders tend to become more active when the share of Bitcoin supply in profit drops below 55%.

If history repeats, we could be getting close to an interesting point for long-term holders.

Do you see this as a capitulation signal or is there still more downside ahead?

FG Nexus Exits Its Ethereum Strategy With a $45 Million Loss

The company recorded a total loss of $45.20 million, including a $41.16 million loss on its ETH holdings.

Less than a year was enough for FG Nexus to completely exit the strategy.

Do you think corporate ETH treasury strategies still make sense after cases like this?
