How to make sure printer actually follows "Auto bed levelling" checkbox in either slicer or printer?

Hi, is there a way to make the printer follow the checkboxes on either the slicer (Qidi Studio) or the printer checkbox? It says "Auto bed levelling before print" and I uncheck them but no matter what, it always goes back to the auto bed levelling for every single print.

The auto levelling is really helpful, yes, but sometimes when I haven't moved the build plate at all and have a mesh already set for the auto levelling, it is just a hassle, for example 10 minute print has a 10 minute warm up cycle w/ levelling, making it 20 minutes.

I know that it's built into the start Gcode (auto levelling) and I know I can disable it, but is there a way to make it actually check whether the checkbox is selected in the slicer or the printer? It is a Qidi Q2.

EDIT:

Also on a side note of editing gcodes, I am looking for a way to auto eject prints from the bed so that I can automate my prints when I am away / asleep. Has anyone tried this and how would I go about this for a Klipper printer? There are lots of Marlin printer tutorials out there. I'm thinking wait until the plate cools down because my plate fully separates all the parts basically, and then perform a quick sweep of the bed with the head to knock the prints off.

Short circuit on filament runout sensor Qidi q2 - Am I cooked?

Hello.

Am I cooked?

The filament runout sensor has this wonderful design for having a spring that is very easy to fall out. Furthermore, it is positioned to spring directly into the circuit board if you take it out.

So....

Yeah.

The filament sensor has this pretty quick "snap" and a tiny spark when the spring touched it, but it was super quick, I didn't see any smoke or smell any thing particularly burn-ey smelled.

I don't really care if the filament sensor circuit board got short circuited and broke, it is 9.99 on the Qidi store and I still have a warranty on the printer because it is 1 1/2 weeks old.

I am more worried about the short circuit affecting other areas of the printer. Will the fuse do anything? I remember putting together the printer I saw fuses.

Basically...

Would any other part of the printer be likely to be affected because of this short circuit?

If the filament runout sensor is broken it's fine because it's more easily sacrificiable.

I don't even fully know if the filament runout sensor is broken or not. Is there a way to check? The blue light seems intermittent to me even since before the short, when does it turn on?

How would I make a Auto Bed Clear Gcode for a Qidi Q2

I'm trying to make my 3d printer a bit more automated.

Currently, I love how easily the 3d prints detach from the build plate once it cools, it basically unsticks itself from it. Is there any way that I can make / write a Gcode for the printer to wait for this stuff to cool down and then detach the prints by way of the print head moving gently or something like that (ejection)? Has anyone attempted it?

I am new to Gcoding and I have seen tutorials on Youtube on this but I come from a Marlin Ender 3 style printer and am confused on the commands.

Qidi Q2 Box Hub issues

Hi, I have been struggling with this problem since the printer came about a week ago. Whenever I load filament into the Qidi Box hub and it starts automatically loading it, it will stop right as it reaches the hub and then retract and then try again over and over again until it finally seems to give up.

It's not a jam issue - I cleared the hub many times and there was nothing in it. Right as it reaches the hub and goes about an inch in I would suppose into the 4-1 connector, it just does that retract. It's not forcing the filament or anything, it seems to detect something, I contacted Qidi support and they sent me a new hub but still same problems. I see a lot of people are talking about making the ptfe tubes as straight as possible, and sometimes when I unjoin the hub from the printer holder then it works but it is iffy and janky.

On the other hand, when I press the "filament load" button it stops at the same part of the hub, but it tries to push it through and it is always successful when it starts slowly inching its way through.

This is basically making my 300 dollar Qidi box useless from day one, so I won't be able to filament change or any other fancy stuff.

Is this a common issue with Qidi printers? I am looking because I have had a lot of issues with the printer from day one and it is a week old. If so how did you guys fix it?

Among the other issues I am having is the "MCU failed to update" and MCU errors along those lines, if I press the button and follow the instructions it works but it is unpredictable when it will pop up again.

Sometimes it also pushes the filament to the nozzle from the box but the gears for the nozzle won't turn, like the motion is desynced from the printer to the box.

Qidi Q2 disable auto bed levelling for fast 3d prints

Hi, I have a Qidi q2 and it auto levels before every print.

I do a lot of fast printing without removing the build plate so sometimes there is absolutely no reason to have it auto level, especially since it takes like 10 minutes and I print a lot of objects that have prints around that time.

I unchecked the box that says "Auto levelling" but it still levels in the print beginning. Is there anyway I can stop this i.e. editing the Gcode and how would I do that?

The reason I'm putting this in troubleshooting is because even whenever I uncheck the "Bed levelling before print" it still does it, it seems like there is a double layer to the gcodes or some duplicate something somewhere, because when I tried changing the purge filament amount, it still stayed the same. Might be the firmware, IDK 😭

Thanks :}

Cannot update MCU firmware

Hey guys, I have a Qidi Q2 and it randomly pops up a "Cannot update MCU firmware. I cannot tell when or where it will pop up, but I always press "Restart Firmware" or "Restart Klipper" and it seems to work after it but I'm worried something might be wrong or unplugged from what I can search up. Is this a common issue?

How to disassemble nozzle from heat break due to clog / heat creep Qidi Q2

Hi, I was printing with my 2 day old Qidi Q2 printer and it suddenly just stopped printing with a blob next to it. I was printing PLA in the enclosed chamber, forgetting to vent it because im not used to the enclosed style because I come from an Ender 3 stylebackground.

The direct drive extruder was skipping so thats how I knew it was a really strong clog without any material getting out the nozzle. I tried cold pulling but since it is pla and I dont really have any other filament right now besides a brittle Abs it just pulled apart even at 90c, not leaving rhe plug at the end.

I've seen a lot of videos on the NOZZLE disassembly on the Qidi q2 but never disassembling the heat break from it specifically so I can check for a heat creplep block

I tried pushing the filament through with a 1.5 mm Allen key but it literally bounces inside the nozzle pressing up against the filament clog.

Any help please, appreciated 😀

Qidi Q2 Combo with Qidi Box jamming, grinding, stripping filament at extruder

Yes unfortunately it is me again :( After contacting Qidi support with this issue, I am posting it here in hopes of anyone with this experience.

I put a filament into the slot of my Qidi Box and put the tip of the filament into the guide. The Qidi Box starts loading the filament, but once it reaches the extruder, it doesn't stop or slow down. It keeps grinding and grinding the filament away. It seems that the printer / head is not synced with this and I do not know why and it is frustrating because I cannot print.

Before anyone asks, yes I preheated the hotend to stop it from being cold and I made it hotter than it ever has any right to be.

IS this an issue with the "New" Qidi Q2 firmware?

How to tell if I have up to date Qidi Box (Qidi 2) Filament jams

Hi, my Qidi 2 Combo literally came yesterday and I set it up and I am having jamming issues with the box, as I referenced in one of my earlier posts. I am watching https://youtu.be/JxrsRQCJEAE?si=EJqGmkbONxPT1tu4&t=570 and he says in the description of the timestamp that "These issues are outdated for the Qidi Box). Is there a way to tell if I have the up to date version? Is there anything I can to do fix this problem?

Brand new Qidi Q2 Combo not working PLEASE HELP 😭

Hey everyone, Im new to this community. I bought a Qidi Q2 Combo with the Qidi Box and I got it just yesterday.

I set it up like usual, and got recommended an automatic update, which I applied. It had some issues but luckily I got some new firmware from the support which semed to help a bit.

1st problem

However, the first problem is that the printer is completely unusable. I was able to print a Benchy when I first set up the print and it was flawless, but after connecting the QIDI Box, the hub, and everything else, it cannot use the filament AT ALL. What is happening is that the filament in the box is getting loaded and then it absolutely stops when it reaches the hub, it retracts and tries again. It can't make it past or even into the hub for the AMS, causing clicking, grinding, and other painful sounds. This is so frustrating, especially coming from a Ender-3 style 3D printer user.

I looked around online to try to see any fixes, and I tried straightening the ptfe tubes, removing burrs, trying to smooth the passageways, etc. I CANNOT FIND ANY FIXES.

2nd problem

I cannot take the automatic bed levelling off. I know you're supposed to leave it on and yeah, I love it especially coming from the types of printers I am used to using, but sometimes I need some quick prints, and I have not touched or adjusted the bed, so there is no need to recalibrate it every time. However, when I check the "Disable bed levelling" option both in the slicer and on the printer, it still goes through a super long process. I just want to be able to know which parts in the printer.cfg to change so that I can either reuse a previous bed mesh, or finally be able to fix the options that are supposed to work through the slicer.

2nd 1/2 problem

There is a bunch of "Internal" errors and "MCU" errors popping up on the screen, updating the firmware helped but it would help to know how to flash it if I ever need to.

3nd 3/15th problem

I figured out the multicolor from Qidi Studio, what is the workflow for me to actually define the separated material multicolor filament parts (like this part is red, this part is blue) in the design software?

Thanks guys,

Using dissolvable supports (PVA) with the CFS or the multi material filament on the Creality K2

Hi, I am looking to buy a 3d printer that has Bambu AMS-like automatic filament switching, the three options are the Bambulab P1s Combo AMS 2 (599$), the Qidi Q2 (499$) and the Creality K2 (549).

I am looking to be able to start off printing engineering-type materials, not quite PEEK or ULTEM yet, but a big requirement for me is being able to print dissolvable supports / different support materials like PVA. Is the Creality K2 capable of this and does anyone use it?

creality K2 combo vs qidi Q2 combo vs p1s combo

So i’m looking forward to getting an enclosed 3d printer , i now own a Bambu A1 combo and want to sell it and with some cash on top get a new printer.

I needed it to be enclosed , multicolor printing and for about 600€ +-.

After some youtube videos and tik toks , i managed to get these 3 options

-Creality K2 : very nice price point and looks pretty solid but i’m scared to leave the bambu eco system because being able to print from your phone and do all these things is such a huge advantage

-Qidi Q2 : a bit more expensive but the quality and the fact that it supports 370° out of the box is nice , also heard good things about printing abs , asa , pc and these kind of filaments but i’ve also heard that they clog a lot and the support is basically non existent .

-Bambu p1s : i like it cause it’s pretty cheap and i wouldn’t leave the bambu ecosystem BUT the fact that the nozzle changes so hard and the build plate is not 100% usable dissapoints me.

The p2s would be nice but it’s more expensive and i don’t have the money for that. What’s your thoughts e?
