At a gig, do you have your steel facing the audience or angled towards the band?

I see a lot of both and just curious what people like to do and why

I like to angle towards the band a bit so I’m not looking over my shoulder to make eye contact with the band when coordinating endings or extended solo jams

Is this just a drop it and move on situation? Asked her out, got her number but no reply

So a few weeks ago my manager from work when out to a restaurant in town and got to talking with his waitress about setting us up together. I guess he told her about me and she seemed interested so she posed for a pic that he sent me and he told me a bit about her. She told him that I’ll have to come by the restaurant to see her.

I went by a couple times in the past few weeks trying to meet with her with no luck but then two nights ago I sat at the bar as she was bartending. she didn’t really remember my manager or any of that and says that happens pretty often, which was discouraging from the jump. Anyways, we chatted intermittently for an hour or so as she was making drinks and such and she was really cool with a very interesting background that I asked lots of questions about. When she mentioned she was leaving early that night I asked if she’d like to get dinner sometime, I know there’s stigma around asking someone out at work but when else will I see her?

She said ya and offered to write her number down for me on a post it. I texted her later that night to say it was nice meeting her and that I’d like to hear more about all the cool jobs she’s had and then mentioned i was free over the weekend if she’d like to go out.

I haven’t gotten any response from her and figured she may have just given me a fake number and just saw me as another paying customer but who knows. It’s also a hard scenario because she’s in a position where she has to act friendly so it’s hard to pick up on real signals. Is this just a drop it and move on situation? Even if so this was pretty much the first time I’ve ever gone out on my own to ask someone out/ask them for their number so it’s a win just getting over that.

New phone, new account, still having zero success

So I hadn’t really had any success on hinge over the past 2 years on my normal phone and figured I’d been shadow banned from deleting and recreating accounts to get a fresh start on the app. It would always pretty quickly go down to me seeing the same 50 or so people all the time and I live in a city of 300,000.

I decided to follow what I saw some people here talk about getting a new phone, new email, new pictures and made a brand new account that I think is the best one I’ve had. I made my account a few days ago and have only gotten 1 like from someone who would always like my profile in the past and I’m really not seeing anyone desirable. Figured the new phone would’ve helped that problem if I was shadow banned but still can’t seem to find any success.

I’ve seen others talk about having really good luck right after making a new account on a burner so I was kinda hoping for that but doesn’t seem to be the case. Maybe my profile still sucks?

My fear of approaching women is killing all my chances

So a few weeks ago my older manager was at a restaurant in town and as a very talkative guy he got to chatting with his waitress who is a very pretty gal about my age. Well he said he got to chatting about her personal life and that she’s single and hasn’t really found anyone here and that’s when my coworker started talking me up to her. She posed for a picture he sent me and told me she said I’d have to come by the restaurant and meet her.

Last night a friend and I went to eat there and she was tending bar. I spent most of my meal planning what to say to her at the end of our meal, and then of course she leaves before we do so I totally blew the opportunity. I’m thinking of trying to go back again and say something but this constant, lingering fear of approaching ladies in public always kills me. I’ve been beaten myself up all night and morning that I didn’t just go up and talk to her when I had the chance.
