New guy here (Jonny)

So, I have been creating “organised vibrations” for some time, mainly because I really love music and I wanted to create my own, it can be frustrating and invigorating all at the same time, I have a small set up and spend hours tweaking and experimenting like many of you guys I guess 😊

A few years ago, my m8 said I should post on Tube, so I uploaded some tunes and waited for the accolades (Lol) It wasn’t that I only got 12 likes in a year, the most annoying thing was that some guy with the same keyboard pressed the built in demo button and got 12 million likes.

Too old to rock n roll, too young to die :/

Bricked by a faulty power supply...

I’m on my second ASUS board having sent back a Strix X8700-E gaming wi-fi with no wi-fi and faulty audio, I ordered a Crosshair X870E Dark Hero that refuses to Aura my memory, I deleted and re-installed windows, reinstalled everything available for the board from ASUS, set the memory speed in Bios, also set the monitoring software reboot workaround, still no joy… HELP!!

Re-installed armoury crate and driver hub, A crate keeps asking me to register the board but its already registered, the ASUS AI past me over to a different ASUS AI @#:/<+$, and when I click on devices in A crate I just get an error message......Im kinda stumped.

Motherboard Dark Hero X870E

Memory           Vengeance DDR5 6400Hz 32 gig

CPU                   Ryzen 7 7700X

Bios                   Ver 0804 still waiting for latest bios to escalate from beta testing

RE:  The Asus ROG CROSSHAIR X870E DARK HERO ATX AM5 Motherboard has an additional PCIe 8-pin power connector but the Corsair RM850x (2024) 850 W Fully Modular ATX Power Supply does not have any available.

This has become a niggle of an issue, the Corsair power supply does have the included 12v cable 2x6 but the Dark hero has a 2x4 socket, looking at a large selection of 1000watt power supplies, including ASUS not one of them have a 2x4 12 volt connector, I’m wondering why ASUS would build a conflicting method of connecting the 12 v power cord from a power supply to a motherboard, I did contact ASUS to clarify this but they did not reply, my only solution was to connect with a type 4 CPU cable, but without evidence to suggest this would work I decided against it.  I found a reference online that suggests that the 12V connector on the motherboard was for the sole use of enabling peripheral charging.  I would be interested to hear an expert opinion on this issue because it’s confusing the hell out of me.

Bought the SLC 4 years ago, although mechanically sound the exterior was not perfect, especially the headlights, it's was a nail biting experience but it just had to be done.

I recently had to rebuild my PC due to a power supply issue, it ended up being a full build due to my old components being incompatible, my last build was predominantly ASUS components but I have lost trust in ASUS for various reasons, however, my main use of the PC other than gaming is High definition Audio/Video, Dolby atmos/vision, all my other hardware supports this, and ASUS mb seemed the best option, I chose the X870E gaming wi-fi, it was returned due to faults with wi-fi and random audio issues, I replaced it with an X870E Dark hero, I am now having issues with the on board gfx, all the posted info on where to find the option in bios to disable this are incorrect, even the ASUS ai can't figure out the question never mind the answer. So im stuck, im no expert when it comes to bios and am not prepared to risk the beta bios offered by ASUS. If anyone has been on a similar expedition, a nudge in the right direction would be a lifesaver.
