Is P4X just a P4.5 with a different barrel?

In other words if you have a HD P4.5 can a P4X barrel fit in it and you got the same pistol or are there other differences? If so, is Staccato planning to sell the barrel with the compensator block separately?

Question: Anyone pair a Grit Grip lower with a Norsso slide?

I have the 43x Grit Grip and it’s been a game changer for me.

I’d like to build a G19 and wondering if anyone has paired a Grit Grip 19 gen 3 lower with a Norsso G19 gen 3 slide like their Reptile EDC RMR cut.

Also, does this slide work with a gen 3 radian ramjet/afterburner? I think there’s been issues with gen 5 compatibility with some of their gen 5 slides, but not sure if it’s as much as an issue for gen 3.

Issues and fixes for Grit Grips & OEM 15 rnd mags?

I used to have occasional feed issues when inserting a fresh oem 15 rnd mag and using the OEM or Vickers slide stop to release the slide. It got to the point I’d release the slide with the optic instead, which is slower.

However, I eliminated this problem by simply slamming in the mags harder on reloads and keeping the mag pressed up with my support hand while dropping the slide with the slide release (with my strong hand thumb like normal) then re-establishing full grip. Just a new muscle memory to build up, but haven’t had problems with reload drills since changing my technique. And still much faster than slingshotting or using the optic, if you’re going for speed.

Another issue I ran into was the Vickers mag catch did not work with my grit grips lower and oem 15 rnd mags (the mags would get hung up and not drop properly like very sluggish), but oem mag catch works fine. With the OEM mag catch the mags drop out fast like you’d expect.

Anyway so far I have not experienced other issues with the grit grips and OEM 15 rnd mags.

One annoyance is my form fitted CCW mag carrier doesn’t fit the slightly bigger OEM 15 rnd mags, even though they fit the PSA micro dagger and OEM 10 rnd mags fine.

Overall I’m happy with the new mags, even though I’ve had no issues with the newer PSA mags that sit flush.

If you have a magwell the bigger base plate (it’s longer and includes a ledge to pull on in the rear) on the OEM 15 rnd mags helps with double feed failure drills. But it prints more than the flush fit mags. In fact, with the OEM 15 the height of the 43x is more than a Glock 19 with its OEM 15 rnd mag, which is sort of crazy.

G17 gen 6 build

Current configuration:
• Grip Weight, C&H Precision Speed Feed
• Vickers Slide Stop/Release
• Vickers mag catch
• NP3 OEM safety plunger
• NP3 OEM minus connector
• Kiral Micro Shock-Absorbing backstrap
• Night Fission optic height irons
• Holosun EPS

I really like the new Kiral micro shock-absorbing backstrap over the 1 piece or the low profile 2 piece. This new design comes with two rubber inserts (one smooth other texture) and a plastic bar in the lower part to keep the inserts in place and added support, where the older designs the rubber part just falls out when not installed and had a tendency to get pushed too far in when gripped on the gen 6. For my hand it’s the best size in between the smallest 1 piece and larger low profile 2 piece versions.

I went back to a stock trigger shoe and bar, since I can shoot it well and appears to be the most reliable. I had a gen 5 Apex shoe and bar in the pistol that seemed to be fine initially, but after alot of use the roll pin connecting the shoe to bar started walking out, which I didn’t experience in gen 5 Glocks. To be fair Apex itself says their shoe and bar hasn’t been certified in Gen 6 yet.

The NP3 OEM safety plunger and minus connector takes out the grit on take up and creates more of a rolling break.

Vickers mag catch and slide stop/release really helps with fast reloads without issues.

C&H speed feed helps with reloads and the weight does help with follow up shots.

Any other upgrades people would recommend for a pistol that’s primarily for home defense, colder day CCW, and occasional USPSA carry optics competition?

15 rnd Glock mags and Vickers mag catch

I usually replace the slide stop and mag catch on Glocks with Vickers, but the 43x version of the Vickers mag catch doesn’t work with the new metal 15 rnd OEM 43x mags.

They get stuck and won’t drop properly. So I had to replace the mag catch with the OEM one and it works fine. I kept the Vickers slide release though, even though I usually drop the slide by pulling back the optic on the 43x, since I’ve had occasional failures to feed when using the slide stop as a slide release with a fresh OEM 15 rnd mag inserted.

Anyway just providing an observation that the Vickers mag catch I was using doesn’t work with the new 15 round OEM mags even though it works with other mags. Not too big of a deal though unlike the Vickers mag catch on larger Glocks I didn’t really perceive much of a difference vs OEM anyway on the 43x.

43x Build Observations

Current configuration:
• Grit Grips lower w/ magwell
• NP3 OEM safety plunger
• NP3 OEM minus connector
• Ameriglo standard height irons, cowitness
• Vortex Defender CCW
• Radian Ramjet/Afterburner (optional)

The newer orange follower PSA micro dagger 15 rnd mags fit flush. Baseplate tends to bulge slightly when full.

The new Glock OEM metal 15 rnd mags stick out to the point the overall height of the 43x is slightly more than a Glock 19. Mags appear to be mec-gar, but they have the over insertion notch unlike mec-gar mags for larger Glocks. Do NOT use these mags with the shield arms mag catch used with their 15 rnd metal mags, it’ll get stuck.

Both mags occasionally have failure to feed if I drop the slide with the slide stop on a fresh mag. If I rack with the optic or pull back the slide I don’t experience that issue. I don’t use the slide stop to release the slide on a fresh mag for this setup because of the occasional failure to feed, which happens with both 15 rnd mags.

Grit Grips lower is the single best upgrade in my experience. Stock grip tends to slip with string shooting. Grit Grips eliminated that issue without the need for grip tape. Also, changes the grip angle slightly to be more similar to larger Glocks with chopped backstraps.

Radian Ramjet/Afterburner is fun for bill drills, but not really needed for most purposes. It’s also very loud especially with spicy ammo in an indoor range. Even more so than its larger version for larger Glocks.

Vortex Defender CCW direct fits on the 43x without need for plates so sits low enough to cowitness with standard height irons. Its dot doesn’t go all the way down the glass but it’s not really an issue if you zero at 15 yards or more.

NP3 OEM safety plunger and minus connector is all I need for a trigger upgrade. I tried aftermarket shoes and bars but sticking with stock.

Initially I thought the 43x was trash compared to the G19, but after practicing with this build it’s turned out to be very capable even at 25 yards. I do have to press the trigger closer to my first joint unlike larger Glocks which I press on the pad though.

I don’t feel like I’m compromising capability for concealability with this build especially up to 15 yards. Very happy with this build, which appears to be popular based on other posts I’ve seen with similar setups.

First Pistol: Glock 32 gen 3 357 sig

Dug out my first pistol after sitting in the safe for decades. A Glock old enough to buy a Glock.

Stock Glock 32 gen 3 in 357 Sig. Mags say “Restricted LE/GOVT Only” and “9.13.94” referring to the start date of the Federal Assault Weapons ban that lasted a decade, which included banning new sales of mags over 10 rounds nationwide.

I bought this new shortly after that law sunsetted. Lightly used since I realized learning how to shoot a pistol with a compact 357 sig wasn’t the best idea. At the time I didn’t realize ammo and not the firearm itself is the most expensive part of gun ownership. I checked 357 sig prices nowadays and it’s like 70 cents a round 🫣.

Back then 40 cal was dominant for civilian CCW and police pistols. 45 cal and even 10mm were still contenders for daily carry. 9mm was nowhere near as dominant as it is today (especially when new mags were limited to 10 rounds nationwide).

If I recall you can just swap out the Glock 32 barrel to shoot 40 cal, since the mags can also fit 40 cal.

Back when I got this 357 sig was relatively uncommon, but used by multiple federal LE agencies and certain local police departments. Nowadays doubt any agency uses it.

At the time Weaver stance was still popular and widely taught, but isosceles was gaining traction especially with competitive shooters and later LE.

Anyone still shoot 357 sig with a weaver stance or used to?
