How do I become profitable?

Hi everyone! This might be a dumb question, but I’m trying to understand how businesses become profitable while advertising on expensive platforms like Meta and Google Ads.
Is it mainly because they order inventory in much larger quantities, even though CPA are already high?

Right now, I’m only ordering 20–50 units at a time because I’m still testing product ideas. At those quantities, I’m operating at a loss, but I see it as part of the testing phase.

Once a product is validated, is ordering 200+ units what typically makes a business profitable because the cost per unit drops significantly? Or are there other factors I’m missing?

(Repost) New Pixel - Here are my results after a week. What should I do?

Hi all,

I’ve decided to create a new pixel because the data on my old one wasn’t very good, especially since I kept turning test campaigns off every 3–4 days and launching new ones.

For the past 7 days, I’ve been running a campaign on the new pixel with the following structure:
- 3 ad sets (one for each country)
- 2 ads per ad set (1 image and 1 video)
- $55 daily testing budget

Here are the results after one week:
- $405 spent
- 19 ATCs
- 13 checkouts
- 4 purchases
- 743 link clicks
- 513 landing page views
- $0.54 CPC
- 0.73 ROAS
- 1.35% link CTR

My product is custom World Cup jerseys being advertised in Spain, France, and Germany (all with localized languages). The price is €65, with a 10% discount for newsletter sign-ups and free shipping included.

The campaign is still running, and I’m unsure whether I should turn it off, add more creatives, wait a few more days, or even increase the budget by 20%.

It’s also important to mention that I was getting ATCs consistently every day until three days ago, and I haven’t touched the campaign at all. Over the last three days, I’ve only received one ATC.

What’s strange is that on Thursday, the day before the ATC drought started, I got 8 ATCs and 7 checkouts after spending only $40 that day.

I’m feeling a bit stuck and would really appreciate some guidance on what I should do without ruining my new pixel like I always seem to do.

Money isn’t an issue for me, thankfully, as I have savings. But is increasing the budget really the solution?

New pixel - Is this normal?

I set up a new pixel on Meta and tested events and they seem to be doing well. The only problem is that under the "Website" section it says "No website found". Is this normal? Am I supposed to wait for more than a day? And is it fine to runs ads or should I wait till the website shows?

Are these stats worrying?

I've done 4 test campaigns across different countries and below are the stats. I wanted to ask if these look normal?

Campaign 1:

  • Link clicks: 125
  • CPC link click: $0.41
  • CTR link click: 1.41%
  • Landing page views: 80

Campaign 2

  • Link clicks: 315
  • CPC link click: $0.36
  • CTR link click: 1.01%
  • Landing page views: 153

Campaign 3

  • Link clicks: 234
  • CPC link click: $0.29
  • CTR link click: 1.86%
  • Landing page views: 175

Campaign 4

  • Link clicks: 62
  • CPC link click: $1.07
  • CTR link click: 1.32%
  • Landing page views: 56

Is this the correct way?

If my pixel does not have much history, is it fine if I turn off advantage+ and manually put in age, gender and interests?

Am I doing this wrong?

I’ve been running Facebook Ads on and off for about a year now, and I’ve struggled to find consistent success. What’s frustrating is that I know the concept and products work because I’ve already generated a significant number of sales through my brand.

Recently, I’ve been reading Reddit discussions about Meta Pixels and how campaigns supposedly use the Pixel’s historical data to find the right audience more effectively. My first question is: is that actually true? My understanding was that historical data mainly matters at the campaign or ad set level, rather than the Pixel itself.

My second question is about campaign performance. In most cases, a campaign either performs well during the first 3–4 days, or I shut it off almost immediately if it’s not producing sales. Am I approaching this incorrectly? Should I be more patient, even if the campaign is losing money?

What confuses me is that I often see strong CTRs and other positive metrics, but very few or no purchases. There have also been times when I duplicated a campaign that had previously generated sales, kept the exact same structure and settings, and got completely different results. Sometimes a campaign that was working suddenly stops performing altogether. What explains this inconsistency?

If I’m testing with a budget of around $20–25 per day, how long should I realistically wait before deciding whether a campaign is a failure, especially if it isn’t generating any sales?

My third question is about Advantage+. I’ve read that if a Pixel doesn’t have enough historical data, Advantage+ may not be the best option. Is that true? If so, how many purchases would generally be considered “enough data” for Meta to optimize effectively?

At this point, it honestly feels like Meta doesn’t even understand what I’m selling. Because of that, I’ve often ended up turning off Advantage+ and relying on my own demographics and interest targeting instead.

Sorry for the long post, but I’d really appreciate any advice. I’ve invested a huge amount of time, effort, and money into making this brand work. I have proof that the concept resonates with customers, yet Meta advertising continues to be my biggest obstacle.

No luck - Tired. Need help

Been suffering with Meta for a year now. I’ve put in a lot of money and hard work, yet I’ve barely seen any returns.

Two weeks ago was the first time I’d touched it in a while. I started with two test sales campaigns, each with four ad sets, where each ad set represented a country (France, USA, Spain, and Germany). One campaign was for tracksuits, while the other was for jerseys. (both World Cup themed)

In those campaigns, I did not have Advantage+ on, I manually put in the age range and gender (but no interests).

The budget for each campaign was $25 per day, and things were actually going great for the first four days. I made around 10 sales in total, with an average ROAS of about 4 across both campaigns. After the fourth day, however, performance dropped significantly due to sales tracking issues caused by customers rejecting cookies. As a result, I recorded zero sales over the following 2–3 days.

I decided to stop those campaigns and launch two new ones, separating France and the USA (my two best-performing countries) and promoting only the jerseys. Both campaigns had a budget of $25 per day.

This time, I decided to turn on Advantage+ and only added gender, age range and interests as a SUGGESTION.

The result? A grand total of 2 sales over 5 days across both campaigns.

I need help. I’m tired.

What’s frustrating is that I know the concept works and that there’s demand for it, but it feels like there’s a huge blocker in the way (Meta) preventing me from turning this into a success.

What should I do? Is my budget simply too small and I need to increase it? Or should I give up on Meta altogether?

To be honest, I have money available to invest, so I’d really appreciate some helpful advice.

For me, organic promotion isn’t really an option, as it hasn’t worked well in the past.

P.S. My CPC and other key metrics seem to be performing well, which makes me think the creative isn’t the problem. After all, I managed to generate 10 sales in just four days with a small test budget.

If I had lots of money to waste, how do you think I should invest that money apart from inventory? How can I scale my clothing brand and get sales?

Issues with Shopify SEO and Translations

Hi all,

As the title clearly states, I'm experiencing SEO issues whenever I translate my website from English into other languages.

After removing all other languages and keeping only English, it took around 3–4 months for my website to start appearing as the first result when searching for my brand. When I had additional languages enabled, my website wouldn't appear at all on Google — not even on the last page.

Not having other languages available is likely affecting my sales potential, as I'm unable to properly target customers in different markets.

I've used translation apps before, and they seemed to negatively impact my SEO. Some people suggested using Shopify's built-in Translate & Adapt app instead, but even when I tried Shopify's native translation solution, I noticed SEO issues.

What's the best solution here? I'd like to add multiple languages to my store without negatively affecting my current SEO rankings or search visibility. Has anyone successfully done this on Shopify, and if so, what approach did you take?

Quick Question

I'm going to run two test campaigns for two different countries: the USA and France. Each campaign will have a test budget of $25.

Would it be okay to upload as many creatives as possible? I have seven creatives in total: six carousel-style creatives, each containing around four photos of different shirts, and one video showcasing all of the shirts.

If that’s not ideal, what would you suggest?

Stuck, clueless, tired

Hi all,

I posted here the other day about two test sales campaigns that were performing well last week but suddenly stopped performing after four days.

Each campaign had a $25/day testing budget and consisted of four ad sets, with each ad set targeting a different country (US, France, Germany & Spain).

Both campaigns had the same structure and settings, except that I was advertising two different products (tracksuits and jerseys).

During the first four days, the campaigns performed well, generating around 10 sales with a ROAS of approximately 4. However, performance then dropped, and I stopped getting sales over the next two days. I later discovered that two sales from the fourth day had not been registered. The pixel is working properly; those sales were simply not tracked because the customers rejected cookies.

After those first four days, I received only about three ATCs over the next two days. Then, after those 2 days, I got several ATCs in one day again, but still no sales.

Based on some advice I received here, I decided to stop the campaigns and duplicate them. This time, instead of using four ad sets, I put all of the different creatives into a single ad set and targeted all countries within that one ad set.

Results so far:

Day 1: 5 ATCs and 2 sales. One sale was attributed to the new campaign, while the other was attributed to the old campaign that had been turned off due to the 7-day attribution window.

Day 2 (today): 6 ATCs from 75 sessions, but still 0 sales.

I’m not sure whether I should feel positive about these results and give the campaign more time, or whether the lack of sales today is a sign that something is wrong. It feels like I may have simply been unlucky not to get a sale.

Sorry for the long post, but I could really use some advice.

Thanks in advance.

Need advice (results worsening!)

Hi all,

I launched two test sales campaigns, both same structure, on Saturday with 4 different ad sets, each targeting a different country: the USA, France, Spain, and Germany.

Why 2 campaigns and same countries? Because they're 2 different products.

The campaigns had a small test budget of just $25 each and were performing quite well up until Tuesday.

Across the 2 campaigns, my ROAS average was around 4, and I had made about 10 sales.

However, I noticed that on Tuesday, when I made 2 sales, they didn't count on Meta, so I’m not sure if that affected the campaign performance.

Then yesterday (Wednesday), I got 0 sales, and today it’s the same so far with even less ATCs (1 only, significantly less than yesterday and previous days). I also noticed that the CPC increased significantly.

I’m not sure whether this is just because Wednesdays and Thursdays are slower days for buyers, or if the issue with Meta tracking negatively impacted the campaign.

I’d really appreciate your advice on what you think might be happening and what I should do next, if any action is required.

Thanks!

Best campaign strategy for expensive products?

Hi all, my friend is looking to start his own local PC business where he builds high-end gaming PCs for customers. I wanted to ask what the best campaign structure would be for a product at this price point.

For example, how large should the testing budget be, and which metrics would determine whether the campaign is performing well?

Additionally, what would be considered a good or reasonable cost per acquisition if the PCs cost around $2,000–$3,000 USD?

I’d really appreciate any advice to help him get started!

0.79 USD per lead

Hi all,

I’ve been running two lead gen campaigns (Instant Forms) for the past week for the first time ever and managed to generate around 350 leads with a daily budget of $25 per campaign ($50 total).

Combined across both campaigns, the average cost per lead is currently around $0.79.

Each campaign has four ad sets, one for each country: France, Spain, Germany, and the USA.

The products I’m advertising are jerseys and tracksuits for the upcoming World Cup, with a separate campaign for each product category.

Each ad set is tailored to one country only, so for example, the France ad set promotes the France tracksuit, the Spain ad set promotes Spain products, etc.

What’s interesting is that around 90% of the leads came from the France ad sets across both campaigns. On the first day, most of the spend was actually going toward Spain and I was getting a lot of sign-ups there, so I’m not sure what changed.

A good number of the leads are also SMS verified.

The France ad sets in both campaigns are now past the learning phase, while the others still aren’t.

I’ve got a few questions:

  1. If I want to target the other countries more aggressively, whether by adding new ad sets or adjusting budgets, will touching the campaigns reset the learning phase lf of the France ad sets?
  2. Should I increase the budget at this stage?
  3. What’s the best way to push delivery toward the other countries without hurting the performance of the France ad sets?
  4. Lastly, is 0.79 USD per lead given the information I've provided good?

Sorry for the long message, but I’d really appreciate any guidance.

1.27 USD per lead

Hi all, I’m not an expert in Meta ads and I’m still pretty new to this. I started a leads campaign using Facebook Instant Forms (where some verified with SMS and other didn't) just last night, and so far I’ve managed to get 30 leads with a budget of $25 USD in the following locations: Spain, France, Germany and the US.

That puts me at an average of $1.27 per lead for a product priced between $70–100 USD.

I’m happy with the results so far, although I could be wrong since I’m still learning. I wanted to ask: is $1.27 per lead considered good?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
