Have you ever tried flying a kite as a kid? Was your first experience fun or a complete disaster?

My first kite was made by my grandpa using old newspapers and a few sticks. It barely flew, but watching it lift off the ground for the first time felt like magic.

I loved the person you were, and now I’m left watching you become everything you said you wouldn’t.

You used to be the kind of person who cared about how your actions affected others, who would stay up just to make sure someone was okay, and who hated the idea of ever becoming cold or distant. You promised me you’d never make me feel alone, yet somehow, I ended up feeling lonelier with you than I ever did without you. You promised you’d never make me feel unwanted, never leave me wondering where I stood, and never treat me the way you said you hated being treated. I believed you because, back then, you gave me no reason not to.
But, somewhere along the way, things changed between us so slowly that I didn’t notice until I no longer recognized you. We eventually broke up, and I finally understood why everything had felt so different for so long, I had been holding on to the person you used to be while slowly realizing that the person I loved was becoming a stranger to me. The worst part is, I still miss you, even though I know I’m missing someone you’re not anymore.

Is healing your inner child actually possible, or is it just a comforting idea?

I’ve been thinking about whether we truly heal from childhood experiences or simply learn to cope with them better🧐
