do most post surgery people tend to need less of a dose ?

I just did my .5mg dose yesterday so I am a newbie on Wegovy. It is my week 5. I lost 11 pounds and my doctor wanted me to stay on this dose for a bit because I was losing too fast. I started at 250lbs. I also was tracking my calories and working very hard and was waiting for that food noise to go away so I asked for the next dose. I am ready for the med to build up and that to happen.

I was curious if others have any experiences with needing less medicine?

I had a SADI surgery in 2021.

Just did my shot of .5mg tonight did 4 weeks of the.25 already

I did 4 weeks of the .25 and just did my .5 one tonight. So I am on shot number 5 total. I am 50f.

I did not have much issues/side effects. I was nauseous a little the first shot and a some the second and tired. That went away after the second one. I do not think the food noise is gone completely but I think it is getting there. I read a lot here that it takes time to build up so that helped ease my mind a bit. I do think that I get full faster and need to eat less often though. I am also tracking calories and watching protein , carbs etc.

My start weight was 250 and today I was at 238.8. I am walking and plan to add some strength training.

I thought I would share so others know it can work.

Overate yesterday (I still have food noise)

I still have food noise and I have been trying for the last few weeks to count calories and eat healthy. I have been doing pretty okay and lost a little weight. I am about to do my third shot Friday so I am like 2.5 or so weeks in and I get no food noise reduction. I am drinking lots of water, more protein and less carbs and lost 8 pounds. The last two days were a struggle and I overate a bit. it was not a big binge but defiantly I overate.

I am trying to be kind to myself but that feeling of failure just creeps back into my head. I keep tying to remember that soon the meds will kick in and help me with all the noise in my head and I have to be patient. It is hard but I am trying to remember that.

I wanted to share so that if anyone else new is struggling with the noise they know I am as well so they are not alone. I am going to just remember that hopefully one day I will look back on this first month and say it was worth it.

Started yesterday…headache so far maybe a bit queasy

I have a headache so far. I am hydrating a lot. Tiny it nauseous here and there.

I still have food noise but I read that is normal for some of us. I also noticed last night at dinner I got full and kind of nauseous and that was new. So maybe it was starting to make me feel full quicker? It was before I would normally stop eating too.

I have been reading here a lot and learning. Thanks for all your posts. It helps!

If you were going to the doc for Wegovy what would you ask

I was prescribed wegovy but could but did not start due to cost and no insurance coverage. I am going back today and going to go and get the medicine even if I have to pay.

Last time I did not ask much because I was new at this. What would you go back and ask the doctor if you could?
I have read a lot but I want to know if there is something I should ask her like how she does her treatment etc.

Any advice for a newbie as well?

thanks

Was denied last year so didn’t begin now going to Doctor to get RX ..have ?

I have terrible food noise and was prescribed Wegovy last year. With an insurance denial I did not start. I am going to the doctor tomorrow to start.
I am planning to do the wegovy savings plan or goodRX. I think the pills are cheaper so might go that route unless my doctor has other ideas.

Do have any ideas or questions I should ask the doctor tomorrow? When I went last time I did not have time to research ahead of time and was not sure what to ask. I am leaning toward the pill and I see I need to wait 30 mean to eat etc.

Anything you suggest?
Any tips?

I am all ears.

Thanks everyone!!

Wegovy Pill vs injection (also posted elsewhere )

I was prescribed the wegovy injection did not start due to $$ now have a question with the wegovy card

I see that there is a savings card that lowers the payment. I am seeing my doctor again soon and going to go ahead and ask for the RX to be sent back in. However, it looks to me that the Pills are cheaper than the wegovy injection.

I might not be able to get the pre-authorization done for my insurance. last time it did not work. If I can I will get some covered. If not I plan to use the card which what I can see the pills look to be cheaper especially if I have to go up in dose.

I am larger over 240 lbs. and need some help with food noise. I have always struggled and was diagnosed with binge eating before.

I guess my questions are about any advice? Should I go for shots and spend the $$ or the pills and less weight loss? Anyone have some experiences to help guide me?

Casual dress code outside wedding background white

Casual dress code outside wedding background white

I'm thinking to go get something else. Sorry about the awful picture. Had to take it while hubby's asleep in my son's room.

Edit: no links since I got the dress at a local store.

Wedding is this weekend in the Midwest outside.

I mostly pickled things in the past and left in the fridge. I am learning a lot. I got the blue ball book at the store to read and I'm deciding on a pot / water bath canner. I'm not even ready to harvest yet.

Maybe a pressure canner someday.

I have learned a lot here already.

My main items, salsa, tomato sauce, hot sauce pickles.
Someday I'll do more adventurous things like beans etc.

For now I am saving your tips links and recipes.
