AITA for getting annoyed when my family ambushed me for a medical consult while my hands were full of food?

I’m an Emergency Medicine physician. Like many doctors, I constantly get ambushed for medical advice at family events, which I hate.

Today was my uncle’s 60th birthday party at a buffet. I was walking back to my table with a full plate of food in one hand and a drink in the other when my mom stopped me, saying another uncle wanted a medical consult. I frowned, so she told me to eat first.

Right after I finished, I was called over again. Still annoyed by the original setup, I told my mom it wasn't right to ambush me while I was literally holding my food. She scolded me and said I had a "bad attitude."

Shortly after, my dad pressed me to go talk to him, so I gave in.

My uncle pulled out an ultrasound report showing bilateral 4.8 cm renal cysts and an enlarged prostate, asking how to manage it. I told him this is completely out of my scope as an ER doctor as I deal with acute and life-threatening emergencies, and that he needs to see a urologist or general surgeon.

My parents are upset, claiming I was rude, disrespectful, and unhelpful. I feel like I should be allowed to eat in peace without being treated as a mobile clinic for non-emergent issues.

AITA for being visibly annoyed and telling my uncle to see a specialist?

TL;DR: Ambushed for a medical consult at a family buffet while carrying a full plate of food. Expressed frustration to my parents, and when I finally spoke to my uncle, his issue was non-emergent and outside my ER specialty, so I referred him to a urologist. Parents say I have a bad attitude. AITA?
